Stray Gathering Cowboy Church 3-Day Revival Begins on Friday

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is celebrating an exciting time in the growth of their church with a three day revival starting on Friday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. with a “Get to Know You” potluck meal and fellowship. This is a perfect time to check out the church if you have not had a chance to and see what all the excitement is all about. Fix up your favorite dish. Make enough to share and come on. After the meal at 7 p.m. the revival will begin with a message from Pastor Dwayne Williams.

On Saturday the excitement will start at 2 p.m. with a picnic lunch of barbecue chicken, potato salad, green beans, bread, dessert and drink for just $15. Then there will be an auction to raise money for the ministry efforts in the community by the SG2C spreading God’s Word into the community. The raffle for the beautiful brindle heifer will be held also that afternoon following the live auction. The evening will be rounding up with the revival message brought by Pastor Williams at 7 p.m.

Sunday morning will start off at 9:30 a.m with coffee and fellowship and Pastor Williams will bring the whole amazing event to a round up with his message at 10 a.m. Come to one or all three days. It is sure to be an exciting time in Muldoon. This is an active community church that is spreading the Word of God. This revival is a wonderful opportunity to come find out what all the excitement is all about. You do not have to come and eat. You can just make the revival service itself. No obligations, just a chance to meet your neighbors and hear the Word of God preached.

Out and About

Nancie and Billie Blair traveled to Palestine for Nancie’s brother, Jerry Lang’s birthday celebration. It was a little warm for the celebration, but everyone had a great time. There were a number of old friends that they had not seen in a number of years who came. Also coming in for the party was Nancie and Jerry’s mom, Elaine Lang. With so many in the family there it made the time even more special.

On a recent Saturday evening Ron and Pam Knotts were invited by their friend Kim Simpson, owner of Best Friends 2 Dog Resort, to attend the Boots and Bar-B-Que Republican Fundraiser in Bastrop. The evening included a silent and live auction. The crowd interaction was fun and exciting. The guest speaker was Ms. Lindsey Graham, also known as Patriot Barbie. She delivered an upbeat and positive message highlighting her faith in God and the important values in our society. It was a great evening to honor our American system.

Rain

On Monday evening there was a beautiful dark cloud over the Muldoon area. It dropped a little bit of rain, but not all over the area. A few lucky spots reported around 0.11 of an inch of rain. It may not sound like a lot, but every drop counts these days. Things in Muldoon are still very dry, but the temperatures seem to be getting a little cooler.

Traffic

Please slow down when driving through the area. It seems cars and trucks just fly through the area with little thought of anything other than getting to where they are going. There is a lot of farm equipment moving in the area and it does not move fast. As it gets more into the winter season ranchers will be moving more and more hay to their pastures and this means slower traffic that may have limited vision. And this traffic can be making left turns at a much slower speed than those following may like. Take a deep breath and know that these are some hard working people who are trying to take care of their herds. This is a rural farming/ranching community and it takes large equipment that moves slow to take care of the job.

The Hogs are Back

It seems that the hogs have come back again to the area. Large herds have been seen crossing the roads and a few have been hit on the larger roads. Slowing down is the key to not having a wreck hitting one of those big beasts. Most are black and hard to see even in the daylight, much less at night. It can look like the road surface is moving when you see the herd at a distance.
