Stephen Henry Painting Demonstration at The Red & White Gallery is This Saturday
Stephen Henry will conduct a painting demonstration at the Red & White Gallery on Fayetteville’s Town Square this Saturday, Feb. 17, from 2-4 p.m. (The Gallery opens at 10 a.m.) Stephen will be in the Gallery painting and talking with guests.
Saturday is also the last day of Stephen’s very successful exhibit at the Gallery. This is his first showing at the Red & White, and the large exhibit featured oils and watercolors from his journeys through the West and Rocky Mountains to Central Texas, where he now lives.
Born in Texas, Stephen went to college in Wichita Falls, and became an art teacher. Twenty-two years later, after teaching art to kids of all ages, he made it to the mountains of Northern Utah. He began to shift his focus from the journey of young creatives to the journey leading to his own artistic destination. He found The Rockies enchanting, and they influenced his landscape style and his Western themes of cowboys and the rural ways of life.
Today Stephen lives just outside Brenham, where he now practices his twin passions of creating art and teaching young students, this time in the Brenham School District. He paints in his home studio as well as plein air. His practice of painting in public combined with his teaching skills will make for an informative demonstration at the Red & White.
Stephen Henry’s paintings are now available online at www.redandwhitegalleryonline. com.
