St. Paul-Serbin Pork Steak Dinner June 16

St. Paul Lutheran Adult Fellowship in Serbin is having a BBQ Pork Steak dinner on Sunday, June 16 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. Only advance plates will be sold for $15 and all are to-go. If you would like to purchase tickets, please contact the church office at (979) 366-9650.

Area Vacation Bible Schools Area Vacation Bible School is just around the corner. The following are a few in our area.

Holy Cross in Warda: June 17-19 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. each evening. “The Great Escape” is the theme this year. A light meal will be provided at 5:30 p.m. Ages are for 4 years old thru 5th grade. Register at: www.holycrosswarda.com.

Community Baseball 

Serbin beat Flatonia last week 11 to 1. They will play New Ulm at Serbin on June 9.

TWHS Scholarship 

The Texas Wendish Heritage Society Scholarship Program is now open. This scholarship program is available to students of Wendish heritage. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school for Fall 2024 semester. Applications are available online at texaswendish.org and must be submitted digitally by 5 p.m. Friday, July 12. Bluff Creek Ranch

Holy Cross Game Day 

The next Game Day at Holy Cross will be held Thursday June 20 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo, dominoes and board games are offered.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

The midweek morning Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda is Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Faith Lutheran High School camp leaders are seeking donations of recyclable items for Art and STEM camp. You may drop off items at the high school or call (979) 242-2889 to have them picked up. Items needed are: paper towel roll tubes, cardboardbig boxes and cereal boxes – both thick and thin cardboard, newspaper, plastic bags, soda bottles-all sizes and paper (cardstock, construction, printer etc.)
