St. Paul Serbin Open House Feb. 8

St. Paul Lutheran in Serbin will have a Community and New Family Open House on Thursday, Feb. 8 from 8:3010:30 a.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m. This is for new families who desire a Christian education for their children and would like to learn more about their program of instruction for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Writers Round Up 

Faith Lutheran High School will be hosting the annual Texas Lutheran Writers Round Up on Friday, Feb. 9 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The day begins with a live broadcast of Sharper Iron. At 9 a.m. there will be two Bible studies from which to choose; one led by Donna Snow on her book “Unshakable” and the other led by Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller on his book “Has American Christianity Failed?” After a group opening at 10 a.m., there will be adult and student breakout sessions during the morning and afternoon (lunch will be provided.) Featured authors this year include Sarah Baughman, Christina Hergenrader, Rev. Brian Kachelmeier, Rev. Chris Kennedy, Donna Snow and Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller. Snack and Bake Sale 

The Ladies at Holy Cross will have their Annual Super Bowl Snack and Bake Sale on Sunday, Feb. 11 in the Narthex. Stop by and get some yummy goodies for the game! Freewill donations will be accepted and go towards travel expenses to attend the Texas District LWML convention in June.

Warda Bunch 

The Warda Bunch, supporters of the Lee County Junior Livestock Show exhibitors, will have their organizational/ appreciation luncheon at the Holy Cross picnic grounds on Sunday, Feb. 11 beginning at 11 a.m. The committee will furnish fried chicken and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Chili Supper 

St. Paul Lutheran PTLS Chili Supper, auction and 3rd Annual Chili Cook Off will be held at the Serbin Picnic Grounds on Sunday, March 3. Cook-off judging and silent auction (4:30-5:30 p.m.), live auction (5:30 p.m.), chili/hot dog supper (5-7 p.m.). There will also be a bake sale from 5 p.m. until sold out. Meal tickets are $7. The Chili Cookoff will have cash prizes and all proceed for this event benefit future projects and improvements ments for St. Paul Lutheran School and Early Childhood Center. Youth Group Fundraiser 

The Holy Cross Youth Group Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, March 10. This drive-thru meal will include pork steak, noodles, green beans and corn. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at Holy Cross Church Office, La Grange Chevron, First National Bank in Giddings or from any youth group member. Tickets are pre-sale only and this fundraiser will help pay for the annual youth trip and fund other summer activities. Pick up will be from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Holy Cross Picnic Grounds 600 FM 1482 in Warda. There will also be a bake sale set up for scrumptious desserts.

Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda 

Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda has bike riding trails that are open every day from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. NICA will be held Feb. 3-4. Dirty Dozen which is a 6 or 12 hour mountain bike race for solo riders and relay teams will be held Feb. 10. They also offer primitive camping spots. Father/Son Weekend 

Tejas Camp and Retreat Center will be hosting their Father and Son Time Weekend Getaway on Feb. 23-25. This is a great opportunity for fathers and sons (ages 8-18) to challenge their relationship and create a bonding experience to last a lifetime. Game Day at Holy Cross 

The next Game Day at Holy Cross will be held on Thursday Feb. 15 from noon-2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch is served and bingo, dominoes and other games are enjoyed by all. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
