St. Paul-Serbin, Holy Cross Announce VBS Dates

Mark your calendar for area Vacation Bible School. Holy Cross in Warda will have VBS June 16-18 from 5:30-8 p.m. St. Paul in Serbin will have VBS June 9-13 from 8:15-11:15 a.m.

Mother’s Day BBQ Chicken The Couples Club at Holy Cross will have their annual BBQ Chickens on Mother’s Day, May 11. Chickens are $14 and cups of sauce are $3. Pick-up will be at the Holy Cross picnic grounds from 10:30 a.m.-noon. You can place your order by calling the church office at (979) 2423333, the deadline to order is Monday, May 5.

Knox Scholarship Fund Amanda Knox Scholarship Fund Raffle tickets are now on sale. They will be raffling off two halves of an Angus/Wagyu calf, including processing. Only 100 tickets will be sold and two tickets will be drawn. Tickets are $100 each.

Proceeds benefit the Amanda Knox Scholarship Fund and will be used to pay tuition for an incoming Faith Lutheran High School student. Drawing will be held April 27 with processing for the calf set for the end of May. Contact the church office for tickets at (979) 242-3333.

Applications are now being accepted for an academicbased scholarship from the Amanda (Zoch) Knox Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund will pay for the full tuition for an incoming 9th grade student of Faith Lutheran High School beginning in the Fall of 2025. Applications are due May 1, 2025 and are available from FLHS or from Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com.

Wednesday Night Bible Study The Wednesday Night Bible study group will resume their study on April 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the family room at Holy Cross Church. For more information about this study, contact Cyndy Zoch at cyndy. zoch@gmail.com.

The Spring Thing at FLHS 

Faith Lutheran High School will be presenting “The Spring Thing.” This will be a showcase of the students work in the fine arts department, including vocal, instrumental and handbell pieces. Everyone is invited to join them on Wednesday, May 7 at 7 p.m.

Sewing Circle 

The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. (this is around the back side of the church.) No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions. Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, May 15 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

The Wednesday Morning Bible Study Group meets at 11:30 a.m. They are studying the book of Galatians.

The GEMS (Girls Embracing Mission Services) will meet on Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m.

Parents can request a shadow day for prospective students to experience what FLHS is all about. 8th Grade and transfer families can call to set up a day for their child.

Warda Area Recycle Trailer The Warda area recycle trailer is located across the street from the fellowship hall of Holy Cross Church. If you have aluminum cans to recycle, there is a basket at the picnic grounds. The money from the cans benefits the local area Trail Life Group.
