St. Paul Lutheran Church-Serbin to Hold Annual Church Picnic May 24

St. Paul Lutheran in Serbin will have their Annual Church Picnic on Sunday May 24. English worship service is at 8:30 a.m. Barbecue sold by the pound only (boneless beef, pork and chicken) from 9 a.m. till sold out. The Ladies Aid stand will sell sides of potato salad, beans, noodles and pastries of all kinds. They will also have a bake sale, of home baked and canned goods. There will be a silent auction as well.

The Youth hamburger stand will be open from 4-7:30 p.m. Activities include a 2 p.m. baseball game between the Serbin Jackrabbits the Flatonia Wildcats, 1:30 p.m.Children’s School Program, 2 p.m.-Children’s booths and games, 2:30 p.m.-barrel train rides for the kids.

The washer pitching tournament will follow the baseball game. Entertainment by the Czech Melody Masters will be from 3-8 p.m. The Texas Wendish Heritage Museum will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun.

Dan Shaefer to Retire 

There will be a retirement party for Mr. Dan Shaefer, who is retiring after being at FLHS for 8 years, serving as a music and history teacher. Everyone is invited on May 17 from 2-4 p.m. to help him celebrate his retirement and remind him how many lives he has touched while teaching at Faith.

Golf “Fore” Education 

Friday May 29 FLHS will host the Golf “Fore” Education Tournament. There will be an 8 a.m./1 p.m. shotgun start. This annual tournament benefiting Faith is perfect for every level of player. Fourman teams are $100/person, including golf cart and lunch. Many prizes will be awarded. They are also seeking gold, silver, and platinum sponsors by May 14. Contact the school for sponsorship and player registration.

Camp Lone Star Registration 

Camp Lone Star in La-Grange Summer Camp registration, for campers age 5-18 is open. The Camp will also have a work weekend May 15-17, as they prepare to welcome over 2000 campers. Kids and adults are welcome to the work weekend, to help with some projects and enjoy a few fun camp activities. Register at www.camplonestar. org.

Race Championship Series 

Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda will have the TMBRA Warda Race Championship Series on May 17. For more information go to bcrwarda. com/events.

Tejas Camp and Retreat 

Tejas Camp and Retreat Center invited you to spend Memorial Day Weekend with them. From May 22-25 they will offer fun activities for all ages, meals, rest, play and recharge. Spaces are limited, reserve by visiting mytejas.org.

St. Paul Serbin VBS 

St. Paul Serbin will have Vacation Bible School June 8-12 with a Tropical Trek theme. Register before May 18 to receive a free VBS tshirt. Contact the church office at (979) 366-9650 for more information.

Sewing Circle 

The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. This is around the back side of the church. No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 242-3333 if you have any questions.

Game Day at Holy Cross 

The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, May 21 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Central Texas Food Truck The Central Texas Food Truck will be at Waldeck Lutheran Church on Saturday May 16 from 10-11 a.m. Drive-thru only.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
