St. Mary’s Church Picnic Sunday, Aug. 25

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger will host their 74th annual bazaar on Sunday, Aug 25. There will be a drive through and dine in meal starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall, consisting of fried chicken and sausage and all the trimmings for $15. There will also be a silent and live auction, along with a variety booth and other fun games and activities. Live music will be provided by The Bandits. A prize drawing for a $5,000 gift card plus 43 other prizes will be held. Tickets are available at St. John’s/St. Mary’s Parish office, any St. Mary’s parishioner, Fayetteville Bank or Round Top State Bank. There will be an online auction starting Aug. 16 at www. stmaryellinger.com. Register as a bidder and view the items. 10% of the proceeds will go to The Turtle Wing Foundation.

Shared Lutheran Ministry All the Shared Lutheran Churches will have a backpack blessing at normal worship times, kids (and other school personnel) are welcome to bring their backpack.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Hermann Sons 

The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life will meet on Monday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station.

Also to Roy Butch Moore and Mary Walden Moore on their 57th wedding anniversary. They were married on Aug. 18, 1967.
