St. Mary 74th Annual Bazaar A Huge Success

The 74th Annual Bazaar is one for the record books. Thanks to the many generous donors, buyers, diners and volunteers, this Bazaar was a phenomenal success. Nearly 1,700 plates of Uncle G’s fried chicken (our own secret recipe) were sold. More than 300 guests were on hand for the Grand Live Auction where Father Steve’s Cherry Pie sold for $10,071 and to witness the raffle drawing for more than $22,000 in Visa Gift cards prizes. We are incredibly pleased to share 10% of our net proceeds with Turtle Wing Foundation in Schulenburg, whose mission is to help families with children who have learning disabilities. Mark your calendar now for the 75th Bazaar on Aug. 24, 2025.

Shared Lutheran Ministry 

St. John Lutheran in Ellinger is selling raffle tickets now in conjunction with their annual roast and sausage beef dinner. The dinner will be on Oct. 13 for $15. Peters BBQ will cater the meal. It will be a drive through on the church grounds at 11 a.m. Raffle tickets are $20 per ticket, $50 for three, and only 1,000 tickets will be sold. There are 40 great prizes on the ticket. The drawing will be immediately after the drive through dinner. See any church member, or purchase at Koehl’s in Ellinger. Sunday School will kick off with a Rally Day on Sunday, Sept. 8 at St. John in Rutersville. Sunday School will meet from 3-5 p.m. Confirmation will meet at 4 p.m. and all are then welcome for hamburgers at 5 p.m.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You-Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Ellinger Sewer and Water The Ellinger Sewer and Water board will meet on Monday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. at the fire station.

Chamber of Commerce The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in the chamber dining hall at 7 p.m. All chamber and community members are invited to attend.
