St. Mark’s Medical Center Recognizes Frontline Emergency Workers During National EMS Week

In recognition of National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week 2022, representatives from St. Mark’s Medical Center recently visited local EMS facilities to celebrate these critical healthcare professionals.

“During EMS Week, we honor our frontline heroes, who are dedicated to providing emergency medicine that saves lives every day,” said Tammy Hartfield, SMMC Chief Clinical Officer. “EMS professionals are faced with so many challenges today and they still rise above them. Through it all, EMS continues to respond, support and care for the needs of our communities.”

The EMS Week campaign supports and strengthens the EMS community by honoring accomplishments and increasing awareness of the critical role of EMS.

“This week is a great reminder to recognize how our paramedics and EMTs are called upon time and time again to quickly respond to the needs of our patients and our communities, no matter the day of the week, time of day, or conditions,” said Laurie Quitta, SMMC MedSurg Director. “They show up despite personal risk, hardship and limited resources. And the extraordinary environment in which we’ve operated during the past two years showcases their resilience, dedication and readiness.”
