St. John-Rutersville to Hold Maundy Thursday Services

Maundy Thursday worship for SLM will be at St. John in Rutersville at 6 p.m. No soup supper. Pastor Jen is presiding. Good Friday worship will be at St. John in Ellinger at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jen presiding. All are welcome. Easter service will be at all four churches at normal times.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Junior Livestock Show 

Come support the 4H and FFA youth of the county with their projects at the La Grange Fairgrounds on Saturday March 23. The appreciation social (hamburger and drinks) will be held during the sale. The Buyer Registration will open at 12:30 p.m. followed by the beef heifer review and the ag mechanic review. The sale will then start at 2 p.m.

Hermann Sons 

The Hermann Sons Life Retirement Home Scholarship Fund will award 4-$1,500 scholarships. The applicant must be a Hermann Sons member for 5 years and have an insurance certificate and local lodge dues that are paid up. Deadline to apply is April 1. More information can be found at hermannsonslife.org/ programs/scholarships. Many of the lodges award scholarships to seniors that are graduating. Check with your local lodge.

The camp facilities in Comfort will rent the facilities and RV spots for the upcoming eclipse viewing in April. Comfort is in the direct path and will offer obstruction free for this viewing on April 8. RV spots are $100 a night with no hookup and gates will open at 7 a.m. Dorm rooms are also for rent with options of 20-35 beds per dorm. Food packages are available with either the dorm rental or RV rental. These facilities are open to members and nonmembers. Don’t forget to bring your solar viewing glasses. There will be a family fun day for all members at Six Flags Fiesta Texas on June 22. Junior members who are registered by April will be admitted free of charge. The registration form is in the monthly newsletter. Discounted tickets are available for all other members and the meal will be serviced at 3 p.m. Check your newsletter for more details.
