St. Anne’s Society Meets

The meeting of the KJZT St Anne’s Society No. 10 was called to order at 1 p.m. on May 17 at St. John’s Recreation Hall. President Mary Jane Toddy opened the meeting with prayers for all living members and their families and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Vice President Helen Wied reported on correspondence. Lois Kaspar gave the Treasurer’s report and Secretary Rose Rohde read minutes from the previous meeting.

President Toddy reported that she and the other officers attended the dedication for the official KJZT Historical Marker in Yoakum.

In new business, St Anne’s Society No. 10 and St John’s Altar Society are accepting donations for member Lorene Nitschke who recently lost part of her home to fire caused by lightning. Also, St. Anne’s No. 10 will host the KJZT District III meeting on Sunday, Aug. 7.

In other news, Sacred Heart La Grange will be hosting a Deanery meeting on July 26 at 10 a.m. On Aug. 16, there will be a Rural Life Mass in Bastrop at 6 p.m.

KJZT Family Day will be held at Sheridan Water Park on June 12.

Helen Wied won the attendance prize. After the closing prayer, the meeting was adjourned. Lunch and fellowship followed with the next meeting being Wednesday, Aug. 17.
