The annual Round Top Spring Antique Show is set to kick-off Thursday, March 16, but many venues have their own specific show dates. Visit www.exploreroundtop.com or roundtop.com for detailed information for each venue.

Local Events

Jack & Hayden will perform at Busted Oaks Cellars Friday, March 10 from 6 to 9 p.m., Frank Martin Gilligan on Saturday, March 11 from 3 to 6 p.m., and Danielle Reich Sunday, March 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. Bingo Night is Thursday, March 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sean Orr’s Texas Gold Trio will perform at The Stone Cellar Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m. Enjoy BigFoot Wallace Band at the Pub Saturday, March 11 at 7 p.m. DeAnna Wendolyn plays Sunday, March 12 at 4 p.m.

Come out for a St. Patrick’s Day Party at Vintage Hideaway on Friday, Mar. 17. Kick-off the Spring Show with a delicious plate of crawfish by Bo’s Boil-N-Geoux.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The next Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social it set for March 13. The social takes place the first thru third Mondays of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6 to 8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Round Top-Carmine ISD This year’s Alumni game was a great success! Congratulations to the Alumni for inching in with a 6 to 5 victory.

The RT-C Athletic Booster Club fundraiser will be Thursday, March 16. $8 will get you a sausage wrap, chips, cookie and water. Meal pick-up is 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the RT-C High School cafeteria.

This year’s Spring Break is right around the corner! Students are out Monday, March 13 to Friday, March 17.

Round Top Family Library The Round Top Family Library is open Monday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Yoga is Mondays at 5 p.m., Art After School is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., Chess Club is Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. and Kids Garden is Thursdays at 4 p.m.

Weekly Preschool story time for 3 and 4-year-old children takes places Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Preschoolers will hear an age-appropriate book and participate in activities! The parent or guardian must be present.

RTFL is starting a family game night to be held every second Saturday of the month from 2 to 5 p.m. Come to the Historic Rummel Haus for board games and lots of fun. Parent or guardian must be present. A light snack and water will be served.

RTFL FYI presents a porch concert with Mike Blakely Friday, March 17 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Bring your own chair or blanket, snacks and drinks. Come enjoy a music fest under the stars. Don’t forget to wear your green.

Historical Society

The RTAHS museum has free admission every second Saturday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. Take the opportunity to view three historical homes and a historical church. Private tours are welcome.

Festival Hill

The 28th Annual Herbal Forum and Plant Sale at Festival Hill is coming up. This year’s forum will focus on parsley and will include a display on ginger. The event will include stage demos and a garden lunch. Speaker presentations will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. After lunch, participants will reconvene in the auditorium for displays and interactions with the day’s speakers. The $80 registration fee includes the garden lunch. The plant sale is March 17 and 18, and the Herbal Forum is on March 18. The sale is open to the public and will be held at 248 Jaster Rd in Round Top.

Hermann Sons

Due to the Spring Antique Show, there will not be a meeting in March. The next meeting will be April 27. Supper will be served. Members may bring a side dish or dessert.

Harmonie Hall

Shelby’s famous fried chicken lunch is set for Friday, March 31 at Harmonie Hall. St. Paul Lutheran Church WELCA will have a bake sale set up at the hall as well.

Church News

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. This past month’s Mass was held Feb. 28.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. The monthly Church Council meeting will be held Sunday, March 12 after the church service. Adult Bible Study classes have been cancelled for March and April and will resume in May.

If you are interested in purchasing an Easter Lily that will be placed on the altar on Easter Sunday, please place your order no later than April 2. The cost is $16.

BLC Ruth Circle met Thursday, March 2. The group continued the study on the Ten Commandments. Joys Baird started the lesson by asking the members which was their favorite commandment. All these rules work in helping us to love and serve God and our neighbors. Keeping the Sabbath encourages us to rest at least one day a week, enjoying the company of family and friends. We all love the Bible and find freedom in the Gospel. Pastor Nedbalek closed with prayer. Maydelle Copeland served as hostess. The next study will be Thursday, April 6. All are welcome.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. Noisy Offering is the third Sunday of each month.

The Wednesday Lenten services will alternate between St. Paul in Shelby and BLC. A meal is served at 6 p.m. and the service begins at 7 p.m. The March 15 service will be held at St Paul.

St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.

Round Top Christian Fellowship Church holds service at 10 a.m.

The City of Refuge Church on 237 in Round Top holds bible study on Sunday at 10 a.m. followed by church service at 11 a.m.
