This year’s Spring Show is just one month away. Mark your calendars for opening day, Thursday, March 16.

Saturday, Feb. 18 plan to make your way over to Busted Oaks for their third-anniversary celebration. Un Cousin will take the stage from 12 to 3 p.m., followed by Kathy Bolin from 3 to 6 p.m. Guests are welcome to enjoy hotdogs and birthday cake. Come out to celebrate, win prizes and enjoy delicious wine. Bingo Night is Thursday, Feb. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. $5 will get you a bingo card to play until prizes are gone. Tyler Tillman will be providing music for Wine Club Pickup on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Risky Liver Band will play at The Stone Cellar Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 enjoy Sean Orr’s Texas Gold Trio beginning at 7 p.m.

The Vintage Hideaway located at 3820 Schoenst Rd. is hosting a Crawfish Boil Thursday, Feb. 23 beginning at 4 p.m.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The last Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social of the month is set for this coming Monday, Feb. 20. The social takes place the first through third Mondays of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6 to 8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Round Top-Carmine ISD Students have a holiday Monday, Feb. 20.

A public hearing on performance reports will be Monday, Feb. 27 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at RT-C Elementary School, followed by the monthly Board Meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The annual RT-C Alumni Baseball Game is set for Saturday, March 4. If you are interested in participating in the game text (979) 702-0502 for more information.

This year’s Spring Break is right around the corner! Students are out Monday, Mar. 13-Friday, Mar. 17.

Round Top Family Library The Round Top Family Library is open Monday from 1:30-5:30 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Yoga is Mondays at 5 p.m., Art After School is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., Chess Club is Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. and Kids Garden is Thursdays at 4 p.m.

Weekly Preschool storytime for 3- and 4-year-old children takes places Wednesdays from 10:15-11 a.m. Preschoolers will hear an age-appropriate book and participate in activities. The parent or guardian must be present.

The Original Round Top Book Club, Book Keepers and Bookworms present “Author! Author!” on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. Award-winning author, Babette Fraser Hale, will discuss her collection of short stories and how fiction stories can rise out of real experiences. Her stories, A Wall of Bright Dead Feathers, are available locally in and around Round Top. Refreshments will be served.

RTFL and FYI are pleased to announce that local dancer Libby Lovejoy is donating part of her treasured collection of dance books to the library! All are welcome to join in a reception on Sunday, Mar. 5 at 2 p.m. to meet Libby who will present her books and answer questions.

Libby holds a BFA and MFA in Dance from Southern Methodist University. She has a diverse dance background and many years of classical ballet including study at the American Ballet Theater School and the Royal Academy of Dance in London. Libby has been instrumental in bringing the popular annual performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ to Festival Hill. Refreshments will be served.

These are free programs and all are welcome to attend.

Historical Society

The RTAHS annual garage sale continues this Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., respectively. The sale takes place at the Historical Society Pavilion located behind the Round Top Post Office, and all proceeds directly benefit the RTAHS. The RTAHS museum has free admission every second Saturday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. Take the opportunity to view three historical homes and a historical church. Private tours are welcome.

Festival Hill

Lyle Lovett and hisAcoustic Group will be performing at Festival Hill Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. General seating is $150, or reserved seating is available for $250. Tickets can be purchased online at www.festivalhill.org or by calling the Festival office at (979) 249-3129.

James Dick, Founder and Artistic Director of Round Top Festival Institute will perform on the Festival Concert Hall State Saturday, Mar. 11 at 3 p.m. The performance will include works by Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. Adult tickets are $40, students are $10. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Winedale Historic Site

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, former Fayette County Judge, Ed Janecka, will discuss the founding of the community of Dubina, the first Czech settlement in Texas. The talk will begin at noon. E-mail tricia. blakistone@austin.utexas.edu for a link to this zoom talk.

Winedale’s annual quilt exhibit “Places and Names: Community-made Quilts in the Winedale Quilt Collection” will open on Friday, Feb. 24. The hours and days are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 12 to 4 p.m. Friday Mar. 3 and Saturday Mar. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 4 p.m. This display highlights the collective work of quilt guilds, family and friend networks, communities of shared interests, culture, or place, and quilting groups that commune regularly or once in a lifetime. ARTS for Rural Texas

ARTS presents “Blaze of Glory”, a thrilling one-woman show about courage and tenacity ofTexas’first women heroes. In this vibrant performance, professional actress Mary Margaret Mann of Houston leads her audience on a journey into the heritage of Texas. This oneact play will take place Saturday, Feb. 25 at ARTS located at 114 N. Live Oak St. in Fayetteville. Limited seating is available, so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. Noisy offering is the third Sunday of each month.

St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 p.m. and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.

The Ash Wednesday service will feature the Axiom String Quartet. Father bill Miller will share a meditation based on the group’s performance of Beethoven’s “Cavatina” – an 8-minue piece called one of Beethoven’s most inward, wonderful and slow movements. The Quartet will also share selections from Haydn, Brahms, Bernstein and the Danish String Quartet. The service begins at 5:45 p.m.
