In the last two weeks, two stop signs in Fayetteville have been pushed over by a car or truck. The tracks at the signs indicate deliberate intent. “The charge for damage to stop signs is a Criminal Mischief, Class B misdeameanor,” stated Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie. “If an accident occurs after a stop sign is pushed down, the offender can be held civilly liable for damage to vehicles or injuries.”

The City asks if anyone has heard anything or has any information about this crime, to please notify the Mayor’s office at (979) 378.2559 or the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at (979) 968-5856.

Boutique Opening

Boutique Kimberly owner Kimberly Meyerett opened her doors in the square last Saturday. “I’ve always wanted to own my own boutique and sell pretty things and I love Fayetteville. My parents had 30 acres here for over 20 years on Fayette County Road. My dad passed away from cancer 10 years ago so my mom sold the acreage and the house and bought a place here in town on Scott St. so she could still be a part of Fayetteville.” Her mom, Ginny Stegent, is now a frequent weekend visitor. Check out the classic boots, purses, jewelry and giftware.

Shop Opening

Enjoy a “soft” opening this Saturday at Jackson on Fayette, previously called Briley’s Upholstery. The custom upholstery and home furnishings shop occupies the old Kubena garage in the square across from Fayette Realty. “Everyone is welcome to stop by and say hi,” stated owner Rebecca McKee. Hours are this Saturday from 12 p.m. till 3 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. till 3 p.m.

Hair Studio

AK Hair Studio is welcoming new customers in just a few weeks. The salon is located at 119 W. Fayette St. “It all kind of fell into my lap. I had always wanted to open a salon in Fayetteville,” stated owner Amber Klimek. “I was working at a salon in Brenham and my husband Spencer was talking to Terri McPherson and she mentioned her space was opening up. It was a great opportunity.” Amber has been a licensed Cosmetologist for five years and is trained in hair, skin and nails. She specializes in hair color and cuts for men and women.

The Klimeks moved here about three years ago from Alabama. Spencer is a carpenter for RWE Construction. His grandmother, Louise Klimek, grew up in Fayetteville. “She encouraged us to move out here. We are working to restore her place to its original glory.” The best way to reach Amber is to text or call (256) 476-1382.
