SHS Class of 1960 Holds Reunion in Flatonia

On Thursday, Oct. 20, the Schulenburg Shorthorn Class of 1960 held their annual class reunion at Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia. Harvey Oeding lead the classmates in a blessing and had a moment of silence for those that are no longer with us. After the meal, there was a short meeting and it was decided that the class will meet every year on a week day during the fall season. It was noted that from the original 39 classmates, 27 remain and 15 were able to attend this reunion. Those in attendance are pictured front from left: Linda (Hoehne) Roemer, Margaret (Kutac) Cunningham, Rosie (Haba) Haas, Atlin Gabler, Gladys (Stryk) Hermes, Conrad Jochen, Jeanette (Barta) Treybig, (back row) Tom Berger, Leon Svetlik, George Hranicky, Gary Herzik, Harvey Oeding, Leo Wick, Lorene (Svetlik) Sirianni and Emil Pauler. Those no longer with us: Peggy Hengst (1981), Eugene Kutac (2008), Russel Nix (2008), Dennis Ohnheiser (2009), Jean (Wells) Drumm (2010), Evelyn (Shimek) Konvicka (2015), Joe Blahuta (2016), Sharron (Mattys) Vogel (2017), Phil Schaefer (2017), Vivan (Antosh) Eitouni (2018), Willie Cordes (2019) and Leon Severa (2022).
