Showtunes Karaoke Night to Help Raise Funds for the New Community Theatre

Here’s an early rendering of the outside of the new La Grange downtown theatre being built at the 253 West Travis Street, the site of the old Prause Meat Market.
The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) will host a Showtunes Karaoke Night Saturday, March 28 at Rohan Meadery/La Grange Brewery located 6002 FM 2981, La Grange. The event begins at 6 p.m. with the karaoke contest concluding at 9 p.m. In addition to karaoke, a silent auction and raffle will be part of the fun to raise funds for the renovation of FCCT’s new theater in La Grange. The karaoke contest will allow audience members to vote for their favorite singer and song as performers compete for gift certificates and bragging rights. Gift certificates up grabs and raffle items are from area businesses including Royers Round Top Café, Schmidt Jewelry and many more.
Plans are in motion to also raffle off season tickets from FCCT.
“We are looking forward to a Broadway-themed karaoke night filled with music, laughter, and a lot of community spirit,” says Julie Couch, FCCT fundraising committee chair. “More importantly, this event helps us raise funds for our new theater,” she continues. The new theater will be located at 253 West Travis Street, on La Grange downtown square, and will create a permanent performance stage along with a dedicated rehearsal space, youth education classrooms, and a cultural home for generations. No advanced tickets are needed for the karaoke night and all ages are welcome.
