Shelter Has 170 Animals In Care

The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter appreciates its volunteers, fosters, donors, and supporters. The shelter cannot continue its mission without the support.

As of May 26, total intake is 675: 359 dogs and 316 cats in need. As of May 26, the shelter has 170 animals in care: 78 dogs/92 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Spay and neuter is the only way to manage the stray, unwanted dog and cat population in Fayette County. The shelter offers a discount voucher program for the citizens of Fayette County for the spay/neuter of family pets. Call (979) 966-0021 for more information.
