Senior Connections locations in Schulenburg (1111 Bowlmann Ave.), Weimar (First United Methodist Church, 301 W. Saint Charles St.), and Flatonia (Flatonia Methodist Church,403 E. North Main St.) welcomes you to join for a week filled with engaging activities and delicious meals.

Join for a morning of fun with dominoes, sequence games, puzzle building, conversation over coffee, and maybe even sweet treats. At 11:15 a.m. we shift gears to prepare for a home-cooked meal, beginning with prayer requests and the pledge. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and after the meal, we will have presentations from the community and, of course, bingo. Doors are open from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at all locations.

Tuesday, June 17

Weimar is the place to be. Serious domino players gather early, and we’ll have coffee ready. Lunch includes chicken spaghetti made by our executive director, Amanda Kridel, served with mixed vegetables and salad. The entertaining Judge Ed Janecka, a pillar of our community and historian, will speak from 12-12:30 p.m., followed by bingo with Takeshia Hodge from Columbus Oaks Nursing Home.

Wednesday, June 18

Back in Schulenburg on Wednesday, enjoy an exceptional meal of fried fish, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and hush puppies from Oakridge Smokehouse, with desserts provided by our members. It is also the birthday celebration for all June birthdays, so if you are celebrating, join us for cake by Debbie Schindler and a group photo. Our latest volunteer, Jaime Janda, granddaughter of beloved Irene Janda, will lead the bingo game, bringing her creativity and fun spirit. Watch out; she may bring her Nerf gun. She is my hero for jumping in to help in so many ways. She is also our newest instructor, and she is joining the team for Artful Fridays.

Friday, June 19

Artful Friday continues in Schulenburg from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with Claire Lewis continuing her watercolor course, which has seen unprecedented participation. This class is full, but if you were not able to enroll in the watercolor course, Jamie Janda will continue her art journals during the session. We always have a light lunch after our classes, allowing time to socialize and build connections within our community.

We invite everyone to explore what Senior Connections has to offer. Membership is free, and our members are eager to welcome new faces. Join our growing family—five new members just last week. Visit www.srconnections.org.
