Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $20,000 to the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center, Inc. (TCHCC). Monies donated will be used to further their mission of preservation and education, through school tours and other no-charge educational programs for the public. The mission of the organization is to preserve and promote the history, language, culture and heritage of Texans of Czech ethnicity. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $2,800 to the La Grange Area Small Business Foundation. Monies donated will be used to fund the National Women’s Small Business Seminar and Workshop to be held on Oct. 27. The workshop is free to those who attend and will include topics such as employment law, creating effective employment policy, unemployment claims and appeals, education, entrepreneurship funding opportunities and situational awareness (know your surroundings/options, identify a threat, run, hide or fight). Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to the AMEN Food Pantry. Monies donated will be used to fund special holiday vouchers for clients to purchase food for Thanksgiving. Additionally, SCE donates $3,000 each month to AMEN to support the cost of food provided weekly to their clients. AMEN’s mission is to provide food to needy families in Fayette County.
