Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $16,000 to And Then A New Day. Monies donated will be used for tuition assistance in the And Then A New Day program, which provides meaningful work, social and life opportunities for young adults on the autism spectrum or who have learning challenges. The tuition assistance will allow these young adults with more opportunities to attend the program, allowing them to be active and engaged outside of their home. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $8,865 to Hands of Hope, an outreach ministry of the La Grange Church of Christ. Monies donated will be used to meet the needs of children who are in danger of hunger as identified by La Grange ISD. The children are provided with a bag of food containing shelf stable items every Friday to take home for the weekend (seven meals and two snacks). The organization has provided weekly food bags to children of La Grange ISD since its beginning in April 2017. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $6,000 to the Fayetteville Baseball Alumni Association. Monies donated will be used to purchase lumber and paint for bleacher repairs. The Alumni Association provides maintenance and upkeep of the SPJST Baseball Field which is used by Fayetteville ISD, select baseball leagues in the area and other events. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center (TCHCC). Monies donated will be used to keep educational programs and events available to all ages; and for expenses in materials, supplies, printing fees and speakers for yearly programs and classes. The mission of the organization is to preserve and promote the history, language, culture and heritage of Texans of Czech ancestry. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to the Colorado Valley Aquatic Center (CVAC). Monies donated will be used to fund various start-up costs, a business plan creation and mailers to be sent to the public. The center will operate a public aquatic facility to teach all ages to swim, improve physical and mental health, provide education in water safety and aquatic studies, and to be accessible to all individuals in Fayette County. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to Feed The Need Missions (FTNM). Monies donated will be used to fund the FTNM La Grange site operations for their weekly hamburger/ hot dog cookout which is open to the public. FTNM is a non-profit hunger relief organization that recognizes hunger comes in many forms. Mobile truck/trailer volunteers feed the community both physically and spiritually. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $5,000 to the Schulenburg Historical Museum (SHM). Monies donated will help meet the renovation goals of the Bohm Building Museum Expansion Project. Final construction/repairs will be made to the building’s doors, walls and floors in addition to making the restrooms ADA compliant. The Museum’s mission is to engage and educate the community about the lives and cultures of past generations who built Schulenburg and the surrounding rural communities.
