Schulenburg Police Respond to Animal Complaints
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Oct. 29 through Nov. 3.
Animal Complaint
On Oct. 30, Code Enforcement Officer Gina Harden responded to the 100 block of Saint John Road regarding a dog out in the cold and rain without decent shelter. Officer took a small dog igloo to the house and placed in front of the old one.
On Oct. 31, Harden received a call in regard to dogs chasing children and knocking down garbage cans in the 1200 block of South Street. Officer Harden knew the dogs and placed the dogs in a kennel and then spoke with owner. Owner was advised if she receives another call, the dogs would be picked up and placed in the pound, and he would receive a fine.
On Nov. 1, Harden was dispatched to the 1200 block of South Street for dogs running loose again. When officer arrived, the dogs were not in sight.
On Nov. 1, Harden observed two Huskies were loose in the 200 block of Upton. Arrived and the owner was in the process of getting the dogs put up.
On Nov. 2, Harden picked up a loose dog in the 500 block of Wolf. Dog was scanned for a microchip and officer attempted tempted to contact the owner.
Accident
On Oct. 30, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a collision involving an 18-wheeler at pilot.
On Oct. 30, Whited responded to the 200 block of Simpson for a driver driving underneath the bridge on 77 south and struck the bridge with the top of his cargo.
On Oct. 31, Whited was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler in the parking lot for an accident.
On Nov. 3, Officer Byron Powe responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 400 block of Summit. At fault driver was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.
Criminal Trespass
On Oct. 30, Powe responded to the 300 block of Bucek to issue a criminal trespass for the address due to ongoing issues with an employee and her boyfriend.
Criminal Mischief
Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 800 block of Wolters for criminal mischief. On arrival officer contacted complainant that advised someone wrapped her house then poured motor oil on her vehicles and egged her house. Officer was given a vehicle description, and officer located individual who came and washed the cars. Complainant did not want to pursue charges.
Disturbance
On Oct. 31, Whited was dispatched to the 600 block of West Avenue for a verbal disturbance. Parties were separated.
On Nov.1, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 600 block of West Avenue for a disturbance. Parties were separated.
On Nov. 2, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 200 block of St. John Road in reference to an active disturbance.
On Nov. 3, Castilleja was dispatched to the 25 block of N. Kessler for an unknown disturbance. Officer located caller and they asked me to get a female out of his work vehicle. Officer was able to have the female exit the vehicle and stand in front of the vehicle. Parties were separated.
Reckless Driver
On Oct. 31, Whited was advised of a brown vehicle traveling at high speeds in the 700 block of Herder. Officer unable to locate.
