Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 11-16.
Animal Complaint
On June 12, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 600 block of Upton to talk to a lady that had a kitten she found. The kitten was taken to the pound.
On June 13, Harden responded to the 700 block of Baumgarten to pick up kittens and took them to the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter.
On June 13, Officer MD Krenek was advised of two loose horses on St. John Road at the city limits. Officer upon arrival observed one brown horse in a yard and an unknown male adult tending to it. No further action taken.
On June 13, Krenek responded to the 100 block of Baumgarten in regard to a loose dog.
Accident
On June 16, Krenek was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for two 18 wheelers involved in a minor accident. Blue forms were issued.
Civil Matter
On June 13, Krenek responded to the 600 block of Upton in regard to a civil matter.
Traffic Stop
On June 13, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 100 in a 75. Driver received a citation for speeding and no driver’s license.
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 120 in a 75. Probable cause search conducted, and marijuana was located and disposed of. Driver received a citation for speeding.
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no license plate lights. Driver received a citation for no driver’s license.
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for defective headlight. Driver received a warning for defective headlight and a citation for expired drivers license.
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 85 in a 75.
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Search conducted and paraphernalia located along with a handgun in plain view. Driver received a warning.
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for an expired registration (5-22).
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 25 block of Kessler for turning when unsafe. Driver received a citation.
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for expired registration (5-23). Driver received a warning.
On June 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for unauthorized reproduction purchase use or sale of temporary tag. Driver received citations for unauthorized use of temporary tags and no insurance. Welfare Check
On June 11, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 1100 block of Baumgarten for a welfare check.
On June 12, Vincent responded to the 25 block of N. Kessler for a stalled truck at the exit ramp and was now parked at the Texan. Officer made contact with the driver, who advised he fell asleep at the light. No indication of him being intoxicated. Afriend was called to drive the individual home due to him being so tired.
Miscellaneous
On June 12, Vincent responded to the 14 block of N. Kessler to the Hitching Post in regard to an unresponsive woman outside of the building.
