Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of March 12-18.
Driving While Intoxicated On March 16, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for failure to drive in a single lane. Driver arrested for DWI.
Fire
On March 14, Officer Chris Kalina responded to Wrights Park in the 1100 block of August St. for a fire. Officer located individual burning a medium size trash fire on the ground. No water hoses or any other source of fire suppression was near; the fire department was called and put out fire. Officer advised individual it was illegal to burn in the city and it was a safety issue. Individual wanted officers badge number and it was provided.
Reckless Driver
On March 13, Krenek was advised of a reckless driver headed eastbound on I-10 being all over the roadway. Vehicle was located and driver was not intoxicated and advised she was not paying attention. She was released without incident. Traffic Stop
On March 12, Officer Juan Castilleja conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of N. Kessler for a vehicle that was speeding. Driver was issued a warning.
On March 12, Castilleja conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Kessler for a driver that was speeding. Warning was issued.
On March 13, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 400 block of Summit for disregarding a red light. Driver issued a warning.
On March 13, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 300 block of Kessler for obscured license plate. Driver received a warning.
On March 14, Powe stopped a driver for failure to signal lane change in the 14 block of N. Kessler. Driver received a warning for failing to signal and failure to display drivers license.
On March 14, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for no front license plate. Driver received a citation for no drivers’ license.
On March 14, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for driving without lights when required. Driver received a warning.
On March 14, Powe stopped a driver in the 25 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (2-23) Driver received a warning.
On March 14, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I, 10 for expired registration (2-22) Driver received a citation. On March 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for wide right turn. Probable cause search was done and a usable amount of marijuana was located and disposed of on scene. Driver received a citation for wide right turn.
On March 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for improperly displayed 30-day permit. Driver received citations for no drivers’ license and no insurance.
On March 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of North for obscured license plate. Probable cause search done, marijuana residue and nicotine was located in possession of a minor. Driver received a citation for unauthorized use of a temporary tag.
