Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Oct. 23-29.
Agency Assist
On Oct. 24, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the eastbound side of I-10 at mile marker 678 for tires in the center median that were reportedly on fire. Tires fell of an 18-wheeler trailer axel. Tires were not on fire, just hot. Fire department came and cooled the tires off.
On Oct. 29, Kalina assisted county with a prowler break in at the 3300 block of FM 3171. Checked area but did not locate anyone.
Criminal Trespass
On Oct. 23, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a male subject that stole items from the store and was outside the store. Officer spoke with individual who was not making sense with his statements. Male subject was issued a criminal trespass for the location and transported by EMS for altered mental status.
On Oct. 23, Powe issued a criminal trespass to a subject that returned to the store in the 700 block of N. Kessler and was arrested.
Civil Matter
On Oct. 25, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of Simpson in reference to an individual outside of the residence knocking on the door and shouting. Officer spoke to parties and it was resolved.
Disturbance
On Oct. 23, Powe responded to the 40 block of N. Kessler for multiple males yelling at each other. Parties were separated.
On Oct. 23, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the 300 block of Simpson for a disturbance. Both parties seemed fine and did not require separation.
On Oct. 23, Officer M.D. Krenek along with Sgt. Rusty McFadden were dispatched to the library in the 300 block of Simpson in regards to a verbal disturbance. Officer found it was verbal only.
Theft
On Oct. 29, Kalina responded to the 100 block of Huser for cat theft.
Traffic Stop
On Oct. 23, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Summit for failure to dim headlights when meeting. Driver received a warning.
On Oct. 23, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for expired registration and driver received a citation for no insurance.
On Oct. 26, Krenek stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 200 block of N. Kessler. Driver issued a warning.
On Oct. 26, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued along with the rest of the violations that were discovered during the stop.
On Oct. 26, Powe stopped a driver for speeding going 84 in a 75 in the 600 block of E. I-10. Driver received a warning.
On Oct.26, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 92 in a 75. A gang member was arrested for unlawful carry of a weapon.
On Oct. 26, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in school zone.
On Oct. 26, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone.
On Oct. 27, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for going 44 in a 26 mph school zone.
On Oct. 27, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in the 600 block of E. I-10. Driver received a warning.
On Oct. 27, McFadden stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.
On Oct. 27, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for driving 37 in a 25 mph school zone.
On Oct. 27, Parkinson issued a citation for following too closely in the 100 block of Kessler.
