Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department repsponded to during the week of On Aug. 28 through Sept. 1.
Agency Assist
On Aug. 28, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1100 block of Bohlmann for black males reportedly shooting a handgun from a silver color Cadillac in the county. Officer located the suspect vehicle at Wolters Park and made a search and located ammunition but not a fire arm.
Animal Complaint
On Aug. 29, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 1100 block of August St. for two pit bulls that were loose. On Aug. 30, Vincent responded to the 200 block of Kallus for a dog outside in the rain with no shelter. On Aug. 30, Vincent responded to the 700 block of Paulus and made contact with dog owner and advised her she needed to have shelter for her dogs if they were going to be kept outside. On Aug. 30, Vincent responded to the 1000 block of Summit for a dog stuck in the pond. Officer lassoed the dog and pulled him to safety.
Traffic Stop
On Aug. 28, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 40 block of Kessler for failure to signal lane change. Consent to search was granted and driver arrested for possession. On Aug. 28, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of W. I-10 for improperly displayed 30-day permit. Driver received a warning. On Aug. 28, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 14 block of Kessler for defective tail lamp. A search was conducted due to open alcoholic containers in the vehicle. Driver received a warning for defective tail lamp and passenger received a warning for open container.
On Aug. 28, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver received a warning for speeding and a citation for unauthorized use of a temporary tag.
On Aug. 28, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of East I-10 for an unregistered motor vehicle. Driver received a warning and a citation for no insurance and unauthorized use of a temporary tag.
Aug .29 Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 34 in a 25. A citation was issued.
OnAug. 29, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for driver not wearing a seat belt. Warning was issued.
OnAug. 30, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 100-block of Kessler for speeding. Driver issued a warning for speeding and a citation for child not being in a seat belt.
On Aug. 31, Officer Frank Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Kessler for speeding going 45 in a 30. A citation was issued.
