Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Sept. 17-23.
Civil Matter
On Sept. 22, Officer MD Krenek spoke with complainant in regard to her ex-husband not showing up to pick up their daughter per their arrangements. Reckless Driver
On Sept. 17, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 600 block of Lyons in reference to a blue in color Mustang doing donuts in the middle of the intersection with oncoming traffic. Officer was informed the vehicle was parked at a tire shop on Summit, Officer arrived and observed a blue Mustang at Estradas’s Tire Shop on Summit. Officer didn’t get much information when asking about who was driving the vehicle.
On Sept. 19, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 100 block of Kessler in regard to a reported possible intoxicated driver coming into town. Vehicle was located and stopped. Driver was found to be an elderly individual who appeared confused.
Traffic Hazard
On Sept. 19, Krenek was dispatched to the S. Kessler underpass where an 18-wheeler driver realized he was too large to fit under the underpass. Traffic was cleared to allow the driver to back up and take an alternate route.
Traffic Stop
On Sept. 17, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler for a defective head lamp. Driver issued a warning.
On Sept. 18, Powe stopped a driver in the 40 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (4-23) Driver received a warning.
On Sept. 18, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for expired registration (7-23) Driver received a warning.
On Sept. 18, Powe stopped a driver in the 900 block of Summit for expired registration (2-23) Driver received a warning for expired registration and expired driver’s license (5-27-23) On Sept. 18, Powe stopped a driver in the 1100 block of Summit for expired registration (2-23) Driver received a warning.
On Sept. 18, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for no front license plate. Driver received a warning.
On Sept. 18, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone, 40 in a 25. Driver received a citation.
On Sept. 18, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone, 39 in a 25. Driver received a citation.
On Sept. 19, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 100 in a 75. Driver received a citation for speeding.
On Sept. 21, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for no front license plate and no insurance.
On Sept. 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone, 40 in a 25. Driver received a citation.
