Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Sept. 10-16.

Agency Assist

On Sept. 12, Officer Juan Castilleja assisted with a fire alarm in the 100 block of College. Officer met with a staff member and was informed that a dementia patient had pulled the alarm. Fire department was on scene.

On Sept. 13, Officer Byron Powe assisted Fayette County with a pursuit.

On Sept. 14, Powe observed a major crash at the intersection of US Hwy. 77 and FM 2436 at the Hostyn Cutoff. Officer helped with traffic control until other units arrived.

Accident

On Sept. 12, Officer Hailee Vincent issued a driver a citation for no driver’s license in the 1200 block of Kessler.

Animal Complaint

On Sept. 10, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 600 block of Summit for three loose Huskies running at large. Officer knew where the dogs belonged and alerted the neighbor of the dogs being out. The dogs were put up.

On Sept. 11, Code Enforcement Officer Gina Harden responded to the 1200 block of South Street for three dogs running loose and chasing a person. Owner of dogs was located and advised a written citation for running at large would be written.

On Sept. 12, Harden respond to the 200 block of Black Street for dogs running loose. Dogs were picked up and placed in the pound.

On Sept. 12, Harden received a call in regard to a report of a dog in the 100 block of Russek not having any water available.

On Sept. 13, Harden received a call about two Husky dogs attempting to attack a property owners’ chickens. Harden found the dogs and was able to take then to the pound.

On Sept. 14, Harden responded to James and Paulus Street for two dogs running loose. Officer knew where the dogs lived and walked them home.

Criminal Trespass

On Sept. 13, Powe responded to the 1300 block of Kellett for a reported theft of cash from her residence and believed the suspect to be a subject who recently helped them with work on their house. Complainant wanted a criminal trespass warning issued.

Civil Matter

On Sept. 10, Powe responded to the 500 block of Paulus for a civil matter.

On Sept. 11, Vincent responded to the 500 block of Paulus for a civil matter.

Disturbance

On Sept. 12, Sgt. Rusty Roggenkamp was dispatched to the area of Kallus and Highway 77 for a disturbance. Officer was unable to locate.

Theft

On Sept. 13, Krenek responded to the 600 block of Upton in regard to stolen Air Pods.

Traffic Stop

On Sept. 10, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no front license plate. Driver received a citation for driving while license invalid and warnings for no front license plate and expired drivers license.

On Sept. 11, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of E. Summit for no license plate light.

On Sept. 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of Herder for speeding in a school zone going 37 in a 25. Driver arrested.

On Sept. 14, Powe stopped. driver in the 1000 block if Kessler for no front license plate. Consent to search conducted, and a small amount of cocaine located. Driver received warning for no driver’s license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle and no front license plate and one citation for no insurance.

On Sept. 14, Powe stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver received a citation.

On Sept. 14, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in the 600 block of W. I-10 going 90 in a 75. Probable cause search conducted; an open bottle of alcohol located. Driver received a warning for speeding.

On Sept. 15, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler fo driving without headlights when required. A warning was issued.
