Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Aug. 13-19.

Civil Matter

On Aug. 19, Officer Juan Castilleja was informed of a civil stand-by in the 600 block of Upton.

Disturbance

On Aug. 17, Officer Byron Powe responded to Dairy Queen in the 77 block of Kessler for a disturbance. Officer arrived and found the disturbance to be verbal only. Parties were separated without incident.

On Aug. 18, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 1300 block of South Street for a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Public Intoxication

On Aug. 17, Powe responded to the 600 block of N. Main for an intoxicated male needing to be removed from business. Officer made contact with the caller who was assisting a white male balance himself. The male was clearly intoxicated but was being cooperative. The male was provided a courtesy ride to the Executive Inn and assisted into the room where he remained.

Suspicious Person

On Aug. 16, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 40 block of East Avenue for a suspicious person behind the pharmacy.

Traffic Stop

On Aug. 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 88 in a 75 and a defective tail light.

On Aug. 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of Kessler for expired registration (5-23) Driver received a warning.

On Aug. 15, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.

On Aug. 15, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Officer observed the vehicle also had an expired registration. Driver received a warning for both infractions.

On Aug. 16, Officer MD Krenek stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zine, a citation was issued.

On Aug. 16, Krenek stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.

On Aug. 16, Krenek stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.

On Aug. 16, Krenek stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone, driver issued a citation.

On Aug. 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for driving without tail lights when required. Driver received a warning.

On Aug. 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Driver received citations for speeding and no driver’s license or insurance.

On Aug. 17, Powe stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 42 in a 25. Driver received a citation and also a citation for no insurance.

On Aug. 17, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Driver received a warning.

On Aug. 17, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for defective headlight and no license plate. Driver received citations for no insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

On Aug. 17, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no license plate lights. Driver received a citation for operating a unregistered motor vehicle.

On Aug. 18, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver received a warning.

On Aug. 18, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone, citation was issued.

On Aug. 19, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Baumgarten for disregarding a stop sign. Warning issued. Welfare Check

On Aug. 13, Powe did a welfare check in the 1000 block of Anderson.
