Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 19-22.

Animal Complaint

On June 19, Officer Juan Castilleja responded to the 800 block of Kellett where complainant advised that another dog had attacked his dog. Officer talked with the other dog owner. Officer informed the dog owner that a citation would not be issued today but if this happens again the pit bull will have to be labeled as an aggressive animal.

On June 20, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 100 block of Russek and picked up two English Bulldogs and placed in city pound.

On June 22, Officer Jacob Mills responded to the 500 block of Kellett where homeowner advised of two black buzzards in neighbors yard. Officer advised the homeowner to stay away from the birds and they will go away.

On June 23, Mills received a call from a Holiday Inn employee that advised of a small dog that no one is claiming and asked if officers could take custody of the animal. Officer arrived to the 200 block of Heinrich and picked up a small pit bull terrier with blue collar and no name tag. Took dog to the shelter. Dog was returned to the owner who was issued a warning for animal at large.

Civil Matter

On June 19, Officer Byron Powe received a call in regard to a child custody issue. Spoke with complainant was advised the father of her child was in violation of their custody agreement.

Criminal Trespass

On June 23, Mills responded to the Pilot to speak to the manger about issuing a criminal trespass warning.

On June 24, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 200 block of College in regard to issuing a criminal trespass warning.

Disturbance

On June 19, Powe and Mills responded to the 1200 block of South St. for a disturbance.

On June 19, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the 200 block of St. John Rd.

On June 21, Vincent responded to the 14 block of N. Kessler for an unruly customer at Hitching Post

On June 21, Kalina responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Macaw. Upon arrival officer spoke to a subject that advised he and his parents argued but they had left prior to officer’s arrival.

Public Intoxication

On June 19, Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for an individual that may be intoxicated and sleeping inside of Taco Bell. Upon arrival found subject sleeping in a booth. Officer was able to wake the man up and have him put his shoes on to go outside and talk. Officer did not detect any alcohol and advised the subject he could not sleep inside of Taco Bell. Subject advised he would head back to his hotel room after getting some additional food.

On June 20, Powe was dis patched to the 14 block of N. Kessler for an intoxicated subject at the Hitching Post. Subject was located and arrested.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle

On June 21, Vincent responded to the 1100 block of James for a vehicle on complainants’ property that did not belong to him and he wanted it moved.

On June 23, Mills responded to the 1600 block of Babylon for a suspicious Jeep out near the water plant. Officer stopped the Jeep and spoke with the drier that advised they had been throwing balls by the water. Officer detected odor of marijuana and did probable cause and searched the vehicle. One individual admitted to having marijuana in their back pocket. Individual destroyed the marijuana in front of the officer.

On June 22, Castilleja was contacted at the police department in reference to a suspicious person in the 100 block of Meadow Dr. Officer observed an individual doing yard work at the location and advised he was asked by homeowner to do.

Traffic Stop

On June 19, Mills stopped a vehicle for failure to signal lane change in the 700 block of N. Kesler. Driver was issued a warning.

On June 19, Mills and Powe stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding going 55 in a 35 mph. zone. Driver was issued a citation.

On June 21, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Kessler for speeding going 48 mph in a 35 mph zone. Citation issued for speeding.

On June 22, Mills stopped a vehicle for speeding on the 1300 block of Kessler going 53 in a 45 mph zone. Driver was issued a warning.
