Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of On April 17-23.
Alarm
On April 22, Sgt. Tobey McFadden responded to the 500 block of N. Main for an alarm. Keyholder was notified and will disable since it has been malfunctioning.
Agency Assist
On April 23, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 600 block of West I-10 for assisting while trooper had driver stopped and pulled over.
Disturbance
On April 17, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 700 block of Kessler for a customer not leaving the store when asked by manger. Manager advised they had been short and no one was there to clean the showers, customer became upset because they could not get in to take a shower.
On April 17, Vincent responded to the 200 block of Summit for neighbors that have been screaming at each other on the porch all day. Officer upon arrival was told the family was watching Nascar and having a good time. Officer advised to keep it down.
On April 17, Vincent was dispatched to the 200 block of College for a disturbance.
Fire
On April 23, Castilleja assisted the fire department in locating a fire on FM 2672.
Traffic Stop
On April 19, Officer Frank Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Kessler for driving 34 mph in 25 mph school zone.
On April 22, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 14 block of Kessler for speeding and two warnings for speeding and failed to update address.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone.
On April 22, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Summit for no license plate light and a warning was issued.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 34 mph in a 25 mph school zone.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 34 mph in a 25 mph school zone.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 34 mph in a 24 mph school zone.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 37 mph in a 25 mph school zone.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 37 mph in a 25 mph school zone.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle for driving 36 mph in a 25 mph school zone in the 300 block of Kessler.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 43 mph in a 25 mph school zone.
On April 22, Parkinson stopped a vehicle for driving 35 mph in a 25 mph school zone in the 300 block of Kessler.
On April 23, McFadden stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of E. Interstate 10 for a license plate not visible from 50 feet. A warning was issued.
On April 23, McFadden stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of E. I-10 for a defective headlamp. A warning was issued.
On April 23, McFadden stopped a vehicle for defective tail lamp in the 600 block of W. Interstate 10. A warning was issued.
On April 23, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 10 block of Kessler for a vehicle with a defective headlamp. A warning was issued.
On April 23, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 10 block of Kessler for driving without headlights when required. Driver did not have a driver’s license.
Traffic Hazard
On April 21, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 500 block of Kessler for a vehicle broken down at the intersection. Vehicle had a bad battery connection and the issue was fixed and driver was able to leave.
Welfare Check
On April 20, Kalina responded to the 300 block of Baumgarten for children near the roadway. Officer found two kids playing in the open field. Officer found the adults and advised them to keep an eye on the kids so a car doesn’t hit them.
On April 22, Parkinson was dispatched to the 1500 block of Kellett for a welfare check.
