Schulenburg Knights of Columbus Council Annual Christmas Party Held

The Schulenburg Knights of Columbus Council 2902 handed out several awards and donations at their annual Christmas Party, which took place at Schulenburg Hall on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The Council donated $5,000 to Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Hostyn for their church rebuilding fund.

The Catholic Daughters of America made several donations to local organizations including the Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department, Schulenburg Area Food Pantry, Schulenburg Public Library, Child Protective Service’s Rainbow Room in La Grange, the Schulenburg Ministerial Alliance and Raphael’s Refuge.

The following KC members were recognized for perfect attendance in 2022: Clarence Hartensteiner, Kenneth Miksch, Joe Kurtz, Paul Zapalac, Kenneth Behlen, Tom Muras, Colton Bubela, Dennis Johnson, Rodney Kalich and Leonard Korenek.

Grand Knight Paul Zapalac presented two members with 50 year membership awards: Gilbert Winkler and Edward Kusy.

Edward Kusy was presented with the Knight of the Year award. Kenneth and Debbie Behlen were named the KC’s Family of the Year.
