Schulenburg KCs Donate to Holy Rosary
A $5,000 donation was recently deposited into the Matching Funds Campaign account at Fayette Savings Bank for the benefit of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn rebuilding fund by the Schulenburg Knights of Columbus Council No. 2902 from proceeds raised at a recent drive-thru dinner. Donations over $5,000 can be dedicated to the “matching side” of the campaign where they are used to match regular donations from the public, enabling them to be doubled. At last count, $115,000 has been donated to the “matching side” of the campaign. Previous matching side donations were made by Fayette Savings Bank, Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Plum, St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg, St. John Catholic Church in Fayetteville, St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger, Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church & KC Council 5157 in Frelsburg, La Grange KCs, Ruby McGuill Ministries, Weimar KCs & Catholic Daughters, Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Dubina Picnic, and three anonymous donors. Donations may be made at any of the four Fayette Savings Bank locations in La Grange, Flatonia, Schulenburg or Weimar. The Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church was totally destroyed by an explosion and fire the morning of June 9.
