Muldoon was blessed with a visit from Santa, with the help of Chris and Antoinette Joplin. Santa made his way to the Muldoon Fellowship Center on Saturday, Dec.10 to see all the little children who were waiting to sit on his lap and let him know what they were wishing for. Each child was then given a candy cane for sharing their wishes with the jolly old elf.

Also happening at the Muldoon Fellowship hall was some fun crafts. Maria Castellanos came by to help Karen Jacobs with more Christmas crafting. Al Forsythe set up the sound system for some jolly Christmas music for Santa and everyone to enjoy.

The Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department hosted their annual Christmas party at the station on Saturday also. Louis (L.A.) Gabler and Michael Otto prepared their dad’s famous stew recipe. It was served as the main dish for the Christmas meal. Side dishes and desserts were provided by those who came to enjoy the celebration An appreciation award was presented to Sandy Courrier for her service with the department. There also was an anonymously donated fifty dollar gift certificate for Harold and Virginia Boehnke for their tireless work for the fire department and the community.

Ill

There are many in the community have come down with the flu, sinus issues, the crude and even COVID. Please be sure and check on your neighbors during this holiday season. Everyone is very busy, and some may need some help if they are not feeling well. You could pick up their groceries for them or maybe drop by some soup and spare Christmas cookies to help them feel better.

Hogs

There were six hogs hit all on FM 154 just south of Cherry Road. With all the dead animals alongside the roadway the buzzards have caused issues too. Please be careful when driving in the area. Not only are the hogs out, but the railroad has been working on their bridge structure just north of Cherry Road and they too can be a hazard with the equipment and workers. They are in the curve, so please slow down when going through that area.

Graduates

Madison (Saunders) Castellano graduated from the University of Houston - Victoria with her Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. Madison has been working very hard for a long time for this and has truly earned this degree. She will be working at La Grange ISD as a 6th grade math interventionist beginning in January.

Madison is the daughter of Pimy and Michael Saunders and the great niece of Mike and Joy Hostetter. Those in the community who have watched Madison grow up are very proud of her accomplishments.
