Rural Non-Profit Networking Group to Discuss How to Host Responsible Events & Programs with Alcohol
The Rural Non-Profit Networking Group (RNNG) is excited to invite all non-profit staff and volunteers to join their next gathering which will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
RNNG creates opportunities for the organizations that do so much good in rural communities to share their missions and visions, discuss community needs and partnership opportunities, bring in experts to facilitate growth and professionalism, and simply connect to maximize the efficiency and impact that participants can bring to Fayette, Colorado, Lavaca, and surrounding counties.
This month, the gathering will be hosted by Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites and begins at 10 a.m. The gathering will be held at the Visitors Center (414 TX-92 Spur) in La Grange. Gavin Miculka, Assistant Sites Manager, and Marsha Hendrix, Sites Manager, will facilitate the discussion. The topic this month is Tips for the Tipple: Hosting Responsible Events and Programs with Alcohol. In partnership with the nonprofit Friends organization, Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill host several events and programs which feature alcohol, including fundraisers, membership socials, and educational tastings. Staff will discuss how to host events with alcohol that are consistent with state laws and TABC rules. The program will also discuss best practices for planning and implementing such events with safety and accountability as the top priority.
Managed by the Texas Historical Commission, the state agency for historic preservation, the mission of Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites ( https://www.thc.texas.gov/ historic-sites/kreische-brewery- state-historic-site) is to provide an understanding and appreciation of the sites while managing and conserving the cultural and natural resources of these sites for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. Sites staff work very closely with our nonprofit partner, the Friends of Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites, who provide fundraising and in-kind support for the sites’ education and preservation initiatives.
The Rural Non-Profit Networking Group would like to invite all organizations interested in participating to attend, as well as there will be a virtual option.
