Wine Fest The annual Wine Fest is this weekend. On Friday enjoy live music and a wine dinner at participating locations. Saturday the wine trail kicks-off at 11 a.m. There will be live music throughout the day including Amy Atchley at St. Cecilia’s beginning at 11 a.m., and Black Cat Trio at The Stone Cellar from 2-5 p.m. On Sunday, several local eateries will host a Wine Fest Weekend Brunch. Lighted Christmas Parade The Round Top Lighted Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3. C of C Meeting and Social The November Chamber of Commerce meeting and social will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 4-6 p.m. at Mallory et Cie in Hinkel Square. All are welcome to come mingle with fellow business owners and members of the community while sharing ideas and asking questions.

Annual Toy Drive Fayette County Deputy Santa Program’s Annual Toy Drive begins Nov. 28. A donation box will be at the Stone Cellar for unwrapped toys for children of all ages. If you would like to make a cash or check donation please contact Denise directly at the Cellar at (979) 633-3114. The collection will go through Thursday, Dec. 22.

Local Events The last Wednesday of each month, Blue Mule Winery hosts Red’s Terrific Trivia from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Come out to win prizes, trophies and make new friends. Teams welcome.

Open Mic Night at Busted Oak Cellars is Friday, Nov. 4 from 6-9 p.m. Busted Oak’s first annual Chili Cook-Off will be Saturday, Nov. 5. This event is sponsored by Harley’s Seasonings and benefits Camp Hope. There will be a silent auction, arts and crafts show and live music. Categories for the cook off are chili, beans, salsa and sangria.

Round Top Rifle Hall The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA. Festival Hill Pianist Viktor Valkov will perform at Festival Hill Saturday, Nov. 5 beginning at 3 p.m. Valkov’s repertoire includes works form C. P. E. Bach, Johannes Brahms and Modest Mussorgsky. Lunch and overnight accommodations are available on campus for this concert weekend.

Nutcracker Ballet Tickets for Festival Hill’s annual Nutcracker Ballet are for sale on the website. This year’s performance will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 from 4-6 p.m.

This year’s production celebrates the 14th annual performance danced by Ovation Ballet Company. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for students. For additional information, or to purchase tickets for either one of these events, visit festivalhill. org.

Round Top Family Library Round Top Family Library is open Monday-Friday from 1:30-5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m.

After School Kids Junior Master Gardner (JMG) meets Wednesdays, from 3:30-5:15 p.m. for fourth through sixth grades.

Chess Club for ages 7 and up meets on Wednesdays from 4-5:15 p.m. Registration for this class is required.

A Situational Awareness class will be held Sunday, Oct. 30 from 2-3 p.m. Reduce your risk of becoming a victim. This class is free and for men and women ages 15 and up. Please bring your picnic blanket or lawn chair.

Operation Christmas Child boxes are available at the Round Top Family Library and available for pick-up during open hours. Please bring back filled boxes by Nov. 21.

Saturday, Nov. 5 the Round Top Family Library presents Texas Snakes on the Library Annex Lawn at 10 a.m. Clint Pustejovsky has been studying snakes since he was 5-years old. His motto is “We give snakes the respect they deserve,” and he is bringing some snake friends.

Round Top-Carmine ISD The Fall Festival was a huge success. Students have an early release Friday, Nov. 4 at 12:30 p.m. Fall Break is Nov. 21-25.

Historical Society The Round Top Area Historical Society museum has free admission every second Saturday of the month from 1-4 p.m. Take the opportunity to view three historical homes and a historical church. Hermann Sons Life Hermann Sons Life Lodge 151 will not meet in October. The November meeting will be Nov. 17 and the Christmas party will be Dec. 11.

BLC held a drop off for Operation Christmas Child. Items such as a stuffed animals, balls, or clothing, along with hygiene items and school supplies were collected. The boxes were sent off at the end of October.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds Worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. Noisy Offering is the third Sunday of each month.
