RT-Warrenton VFD Holding Raffle

Please join the community in supporting and sustaining the services by our local Volunteer Fire Department. The annual fundraiser will raise monies through sales of raffle tickets and free will donations. All donations can be dropped off at Round Top State Bank, or mailed to the Round Top-Warrenton VFD at P.O. Box 194, Round Top, Texas 78954.

Raffle tickets are available around town and various locations including the bank, Round Top Farm & Ranch, Round Top Real Estate, Round Top Mercantile, Round Top Service Station, Carmine State Bank, The Cabin by Winberly (Henkel Square), Fayetteville Propane, or by contacting any fire department member. The drawing will be held June 26.

Round Top Family Library The May calendar at the Library is stacked with events. There are a wide variety of options including yoga, ballet, taekwondo, weekly story time and more. For more information on these or any of the free classes offered at the library, visit ilovetoread.org.

This Saturday, April 26 Busted Oak Cellars is hosting their 2nd Annual Vintage Car Show from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Proceeds from this event will go directly to the Library’s Campaign Fun. Come out for the day and enjoy vintage cars, live music, raffle and a silent auction.

Festival Hill 

A unique opportunity is at Festival Hill Saturday, May 17. The Austin Symphonic Band, Sugar Land Winds, and Mansfield Wind Symphony will join forces, directed by the Director of Bands at the University of Texas. The afternoon will include works of legendary composer, John Williams, featuring the “Star Wars” main theme, the “Midway March”, and the music of “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Tickets can be purchased through a link found on festivalhill. org under the Events tab.

Round Top Rifle Hall 

Enjoy burgers the first, second, and third Mondays of each month. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the RTRH. Don’t forget you can rent the hall for your special events – rental information and the contact numbers can be found at roundtoprifle. com.

St. Martin’s Catholic Church 

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly Mass the first Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. The next service will be Tuesday, May 6. More information can be found at stjohnfayetteville. com/st-martin.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church 

Bethlehem Lutheran Church meets for worship Sundays at 9:30 a.m. You can also watch the service on their YouTube channel found at https://tinyurl.com/yc77f2vj at 9:30 a.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church 

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby services are at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 4 will be a joint service with BLC at Round Top for their annual chicken fry.

St. John’s, Warrenton 

St. John’s is part of the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. They meet for Sunday Worship at 8:30 a.m. The SLM Women’s Retreat will be at Lutherhill on Saturday, May 3.

RT Christian Fellowship Round Top Church meets at 8:45 a.m. for Bible Study, followed by a 10 a.m. service.

St. Cecilia’s Episcopal Church St. Cecilia’s Episcopal Church in Round Top announces the third annual Willie Nelson Birthday Tribute Mass, Keep Your Hands on the Wheel. This unique service takes place annually on the Sunday closest to Willie Nelson’s birthday, this year on Sunday, April 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the historic Round Top Dance Hall (550 North Washington in Round Top.)

The service features musicians Crispin Schroeder, Joey McGee, Chapman Welch, Ellen Melissa Story, Stephen Mansolo, Bobby McDonald and Rob Kazenel, with a spoken word from priest and author William “Father Bill” Miller. This Mass celebrates songs Willie wrote or recorded including Sing to me of Willie (Edie Brickell), Too Sick to Pray, Lord, Nothing I Can Do About it Now, Come on Back Jesus, Laying My Burdens Down, and Hands on the Wheel to name a few.
