RT Chamber to Host Social April 11

Classic Car Show 

Busted Oak Cellars is hosting their 1st Annual Classic Car Show. Saturday, April 13 you are invited to come out to browse several great classic cars while enjoying live music. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Round Top Family Library.

One Square Mile Music Fest Mark your calendars for the “One Square Mile Music Fest” in Round Top April 18-21. Several artists will be performing over the four-day event at various times during the day. More information and tickets can be found at onesquaremileroundtop. com.

Off to the Races 

Save the date for Gardenia E. Janssen’s annual fundraiser – “Off to the Races!” Saturday, May 4 a Derby Day Brunch inspired by Due Market Hill will be full of live music, a live and silent auction, hat contest, winning horse raffle, Derby Day cocktails, Whiskey Wall, golden ticket jewelry raffle and more. Round Top Family Library Here’s a look at what the library has in store for the month of April: a Medicare Education Class is set forApril 9, Family Game Day is April 13, Homeschool Hangout every Monday, “Author! Author! With Babette Hale on April 21. Long-standing events include Yoga on Mondays at 5 p.m. and Wednesdays at 9 a.m.; Children’s story time is Wednesdays at 10 a.m.; After-School Programs Monday thru Thursdays, and the Round Top Town Council meets the second Mondays of each month. RTC-ISD 

Eligible children who plan to attend Kindergarten or Prekindergarten at Round Top - Carmine Elementary for the 2024 - 2025 school year are invited to attend the Kindergarten and Pre-k Round-Up on April 4 from 5-6 p.m. For more information, including eligibility guidelines, visit rtcisd. net.

Summer League Volleyball 

Summer League Volleyball for incoming 7th – 12th graders for the 2024 – 2025 school year will begin in May at the Giddings gyms. Forms and additional information can be found at rtcisd.net. Deadline to get forms in is Monday, April 8 – no late entries accepted.

Early Release 

Students have an early release at 12:30 p.m. on April 5, and a holiday Monday, April 8. Report cards will be posted and/or sent home on April 11.

Round Top Rifle Hall 

The Round Top Rifle Hall’s Monday Night Hamburger Socials take place the first, second, and third Mondays of each month, the Hall is open from 5:30-8 p.m. for hamburgers, “The Rooster,” hotdogs, or chilidogs, along with fries or onion rings. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the Round Top Rifle Association.

Festival Hill 

Festival Hill’s annual gala will be Saturday, April 14. “A Night Under the Texas Stars” will honor the iconic star emblazoned on the ceiling and throughout the stunning concert hall. Funds from this benefit will allow Festival Hill to continue to bring talented young musicians to the Round Top Music Festival. The evening includes a live and silent auction, music, a meal catered by Royer’s Café, and guests will hear from former students whose lives have been impacted by their participation in the Summer Music Festival. Historical Society 

Free tours of the campus and museums are offered on the second Saturday of every month. The RTAHS has established a docent program to support the society and they are currently seeking volunteers. They are also always collecting local family histories to help build their library. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, have some history to share, or if you would like to join RTAHS, please call (979) 249-5839. RTAHS is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Church News 

Bethlehem Lutheran Church annual fundraiser is Sunday, May 5 at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Worship service will be at 10 a.m. under the pavilion. Meal tickets are $15 per plate and include 4 pieces of fried chicken, green beans, buttered noodles, and a pickle spear. Desserts available for a donation. Meal served from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Both dine-in and to-go available. Tickets available at the church office, Round Top Mercantile, Round Top State Bank, or church members. Raffle tickets also available.
