RT-Carmine ISD Accepting Transfer Applications
Round Top-Carmine ISD is currently accepting transfer applications for the 2022-2023 school year. Transfer packets may be printed from the RT-CISD district website or picked up at either school campus. Transfer requests are reviewed by the Transfer Committee.
Congratulations to the following Cub Baseball team members who received 2022 District 26 AA Awards: Hunter Schobel-1st Team Infield; Jacob Polasek-1st Team Utility/DH; Kannyn Goehring-1st Team Infield; and Tanner Schobel-2nd Team Infield.
Administration offices are open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. They will be closed July 4-8.
MLLC Rebekah Group
The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met June 9, 2022 with nine members present. They were Carol Carmean, Diana Wunderlich, Colette Wunderlich, Joys Baird, Barbara Jacob, Joann Ullrich, Dianna Gerland, Leonita Sanders, and Nancy Eilers.
Sedalia Ullrich and Joyce Fuchs were recognized as June Birthday celebrants.
The Bible study was led by Diana Wunderlich with the theme “Crafted in Christ – Session one: A summer of rest and renewal.”
The business meeting was called to order by Nancy Eilers.
The Purpose and Mission statements were recited.
Minutes and treasurer’s report of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The A.M.E.N. donations were taken to La Grange. Quilting will be Monday, June 13 at 9 a.m. Soap and bath towels for Personal Care Kits are still being collected.
The WELCA General Unit Meeting was set for Thursday, July 14 at 1 p.m., followed by the Rebekah Group meeting at 2 p.m.
Discussion was held on having a meeting for chairpersons of funeral serving groups. This will be decided at the WELCA Unit Meeting.
Barbara Jacob gave the Offering Meditation. She mentioned Katie’s Fund, which is an endowment in memory of Katie Luther, and the group sang “We Give Thee but Thine Own.”
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer and the group sang the table prayer.
Hostesses were Colette Wunderlich and Dianna Gerland.
Carmine VFD
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting is June 23 at 7 p.m.
The annual Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser is scheduled for July 17 at the Carmine Hall. They will serve a fried chicken dinner to-go, drive through only from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until sold out. Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal. Desserts will also be served for a donation. Tickets for a drawing are available.
MLLC News
A new Bible study group will meet for the first session Wednesday from 7-8:15 p.m. If anyone is interested, contact the church office at (979) 278-3388.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship with Holy Communion observing the Third Sunday after Pentecost is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Men in Mission meet Monday at 6 p.m.
Recycle Trailer
The Recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Carmine Chamber
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
