RT-Carmine Elementary Fall Festival Saturday

RT-C Parents’ Club is sponsoring the Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the RT-C Elementary School from 5-8 p.m. They are taking pre-orders for fresh fajita plates for $15 and hot dogs for $3. Desserts will be available for a donation. Enjoy a kids costume parade, kids carnival, and high school entertainment. There will also be a drawing and silent auction. Everyone is welcome. All proceeds benefit students and staff of RT-CISD. For more information, call the elementary school at (979) 249-3200.
RT-C School News High School varsity volleyball team and Jr. High play at McDade Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. Varsity plays at Weimar Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. Congratulations to the varsity girl’s cross-country team who qualified for Regional by placing first at the district cross country meet on Oct. 12 at Festival Hill in Round Top. Individual places were Maggie Salinas-1st; Kennedy Flinn-3rd; Mallory Krause-4th; Avery Nelius- 5th; Daylin Pitts-7th; Tess Eilers-10th; Bayley Pitts-11th; Makayla Smith-12th; Jill Eilers-14th; and Gretchen Sacks-15th.
The Jr. High girls team placed third. The Principles of Art students created projects to demonstrate different communication styles. At the October meeting of the RT-C FFA, members participated in pumpkin painting activities. The next FFA meeting is Nov. 3.
Carmine Lions Club The Carmine Lions Club met Oct. 11 at the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Annex Building at 6:30 p.m. The Turkey Shoot at Paw-Paw’s raised a total of $617 from the shoot and donations received. The Club is looking forward to having another shoot in the near future. Thanks to Larry and Tina and all of our club members who helped with this event. Ricky, Jimmy and Joshua grilled the wieners at National Night Out. Donna and Ronnie purchased and donated the wieners. There was a good turn out and the food was very good.
The Club hosted the Zone meeting on Oct. 10, at the CVFDAnnex Building. Burgers and sausage wraps were served. Tickets for our fundraiser raffle are being printed. The drawing will be at the Christmas Fest at Carmine Hall on Dec. 4.
The Lions are providing wrist bands again for the RT-C Elementary students for Red Ribbon Week. A food drive for AMEN Food Pantry will be held in November. Donations can be brought to the meeting or to the collection box at the bank.
Carmine VFD Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting night is Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. The burn ban is in effect for Fayette County. The flag is up at the fire station and extra signs are on the Fayette County Line signs. To rent the Firemen’s Annex, call Jennifer Mohr at (979) 716-- 1377.
Senior Bingo The next Bingo for Seniors will be Nov. 13 at the Ledbetter Community Center from 2-4 p.m.
City Dumpster The City of Carmine will have a dumpster for Carmine residents Nov. 12-13 from 8-4 p.m. at Carmine City Hall, 260 Luther Lane. Truck loads will be charged $15 and trailer loads will be $25. Accepted are larger household items. Prohibited items include tires, household hazardous waste such as paint, oil, chemicals, and pesticides, refrigerators, and E-waste such as computers, monitors, and household electronic items with internal components like mercury and other heavy metals. MLLC News Confirmation class meets Wednesday from 4:15-6:15 p.m. Bible Study class follows from 7-8:15 p.m.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Worship with Holy Communion observing Reformation Sunday will be held at Carby Chapel at Lutherhill on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The four churches of the Crossroads Shared Lutheran Ministries will have a combined service. They include Bethlehem Lutheran Church-Round Top; St. Paul Lutheran Church-Shelby; Martin Luther Lutheran Church-Carmine; and Waldeck Evangelical Lutheran Church. The service will be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Sunday School will follow worship with Lutherhill Staff.
Recycling Trailer The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m. The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Birthdays Birthday wishes are extended to Otto L. Fuchs, Jr.Oct. 25; Jaycie Pohl and Glenn Treude-26; Michelle Marburger- 28; Lauren O’Malley-29; and Casey Lange and Matthew Roemer- 31.
