RT-Carmine Elementary Back to School Night Aug. 8

The RT-C Elementary students have “Back to School Night” Thursday, Aug. 8. Pre-K to third grade are welcome to come from 5:30-6:30 p.m. to meet teachers and drop-off school supplies in their classrooms. Fourth to sixth-grade students and parents are invited to a meeting in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. These students are asked to put all school supplies in a bag labeled with the student’s name, and drop it off on the appropriate grade level table in the cafeteria. Evie and Me cookies will be available from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the parking lot.
High School Welcome Walk Monday, Aug. 12, is the “High School Welcome Walk.” Incoming seventh graders and new students meet at the High School Cafeteria at 5 p.m. for Chromebooks, lockers, parking spots, and class schedules. In order to receive a parking spot, students must have drivers license, insurance, and driver responsibility form. Returning eighth graders through seniors, meet at 5:30 p.m. to pick up your schedule and meet your teachers. Meet the Coaches and a mandatory athletic meeting will be at the High School gym at 6 p.m. At least one parent must attend this meeting. The first day is Wednesday, Aug. 14. Voelkel Family Reunion The Voelkel Family is hosting their 84th annual family reunion Sunday, Aug. 4 at Harmonie Hall. The family hails from Erndtebruck, Germany.

Booster Club Shrimp Boil
Support the Round Top-Carmine Athletes with the RTC Booster Club’s first annual shrimp boil set for Saturday, Sept. 21. Hermann Sons Life
The Hermann Sons Life of Round Top held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday evening, July 25 at the American Legion Hall. Linda Mattocks, President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Melanie Rauch, community coordinator, reported on cards sent. There is one new member, and one in-coming transfer. The Country Store at the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department Feast was the main discussion. Another item was an invitation to share future meetings with another Lodge. Happy Birthday was sung to Valgene Ebner and Floyd Braun. Attendance prizes were won by Mary Rauch, Betty Porter, Myrt Meinkowsky, Jocie Braun, and Bob Porter. The next meeting will be Aug. 22. A pulled-pork dinner with all the extras will be served. Members may bring sides or desserts. Fellowship, refreshments, and a delicious lunch was enjoyed by all.
Festival Hill
The next show at Festival Hill will be Saturday, Aug. 24. The Magnolia City Brass Band will take the stage at the Festival Concert Hall. Houston’s new all-professional British-style brass band under the direction of Houston Symphony Assistant Principal Trumpet, Robert Walp.

Town of Round Top
The Town of Round Top Town Council meets the third Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. Meetings are held at Town Hall unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend.
Church News
Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s Praise Team had a change in schedule – the Praise Team and Noisy Offering service will be Aug. 11. Remember to bring all your loose change. The Church Council will meet following this worship.
Adult Bible Study will be Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Education Building. The Sewing Circle will meet in the Educational Building on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 9:30 a.m. All visitors and new members are welcome to attend.
