RT-Carmine 4-H Hosting Pet Vaccination Clinic
A pet vaccination clinic will be held on Thursday, May 2, sponsored by the RT-C 4-H Club. Shots will be given at the Round Top Rifle Hall from 5-6 p.m., followed by shots at the Carmine Hall from 6:15-7 p.m.
Services include rabies shot for dog or cat for $12 per pet; full workups include dog DHLP plus rabies for $46; Cat FVRCP plus rabies for $56; and rattlesnake for $20.
Proceeds will benefit the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter of La Grange.

RT-C School News
High school students participated in the regional golf tournament on April 15-16 in Manor. Angie LeBeouf will advance to state as an individual. The team of Angie Le-Bouef, Alin Soto, Kim Rohde, Makayla Smith, Maggie Salinas and Avery Nelius placed fourth. Individual participants were Fernanda Cerda and Carter Marburger.
Egypt Woods has advanced to the state track meet in the long jump, which will be held in Austin on May 2-4.
Round Top-Carmine FFA students have had a very rewarding spring in Stock Shows, District contest, Area Contest and Conventions.
Jenna Hardaway retires as District Reporter for the Horizon FFA District. Avery Nelius was elected District Student Advisor for the Horizon FFA District.
Other results are: Emma Baird, first in Animal Science SDE; Emme Dallmeyer, second in Ag Policy SDE; Jenna Hardaway, third in Ag Business SDE; Avery Nelius, third in Animal Science SDE Veterinary Science, in the top 30 at Area, top 10 in District Livestock Judging, thirteenth at Area, and top 5 in District.
Congratulations to all Fayette County livestock exhibitors and FFA members who have accomplished so much this spring.
Congratulations also to Tanner Schobel and Mallory Krause who were named the 2024 Mr. And Miss RT-C.
High School baseball team plays at Snook on April 26 at 6:30 p.m. for their last district game.

Rebekah Group Holds Meeting
The Martin Luther Lutheran Church Rebekah Group met on Thursday, April 11, at 2 p.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building. Eight members were present. They included Joys Baird, Carol Carmean, Nancy Eilers, Jocie Jacob, Susan Ray, Leonita Sanders, Joann Ullrich and Diana Wunderlich.
The Bible Study was led by Susan Ray with the theme, “Scripture and Nature: Teachers of Faith, Session 4; Food: Daily bread for health of the world.”
The business meeting was called to order by President Susan Ray.
The Purpose and Mission Statements were recited.
A thank-you note was received from Ray Ullrich for the birthday card sent to him.
Diana Wunderlich reported that the quilters did not meet in April since a number of them were gone to see the total eclipse of the sun. Leonita took the donations of food to AMEN in La Grange.
Joys Baird continues to work on the Salad Banquet, which will be held on the first Wednesday in June. Suggestions were given for the program and songs with the theme “Give Me That Old Time Religion.” She will take invitations to other churches in the area.
Happy Birthday was sung for Carol Carmean.
The offering meditation was given by Joys Baird.
Hostesses were Diana Wunderlich and Joys Baird.
Cemetary Decoration Service The Carmine Cemetery Association will hold its annual Decoration Service on Sunday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at the cemetery. The Rev. David Tinker will lead the service.

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department monthly meeting is April 25 at 7 p.m.

Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.
Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Take note that Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
The hours in Warrenton at 600 Huenefeld LN, Round Top are 8-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and also 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturdays.
Hours in La Grange at 210 Svoboda Ln. are Tuesdays 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; and Saturdays 7 a.m.-1 p.m. The trailer is also in Fayetteville on Tuesdays from 1-5:30 p.m. Trash bags are accepted at Fayetteville for a cost.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
