RT-Carmine 4-H Club to Host Pet Vaccination Clinic
Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 2 when the RT-C 4-H Club is sponsoring a pet vaccination clinic. Shots will be given at the Round Top Rifle Hall from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by shots at the Carmine Hall from 6:15 to 7 p.m.
Services include Rabies Shot for dog or cat for $12 per pet; full workups include dog DHLP plus Rabies for $46; Cat FVRCP plus Rabies for $56; and Rattlesnake for $20.
Proceeds will benefit the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter of La Grange.

RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine High School baseball team plays at Fayetteville on April 16 at 6:30 p.m. The team hosts Fayetteville April 19 at 4:30 p.m.
The regional golf tournament is April 15 and 16 at Manor beginning at 8 a.m.
High school regional track meet is April 19 and 20 at Jourdanton.
District tennis tournament is April 22 in La Grange.
Report cards will be posted and/or sent home with students on April 11. They need to be returned by April 16.
Some very special staff members, who understand flexibility and exemplify what it means to see a need and fill a need, were celebrated this week. They included Coach Gold, Mrs. Coil, Mrs. Bellue, and Mrs. Park. The school couldn’t do all that it does without them.
The Texas A&M University School of Nursing will provide the opportunity for all RT-C students to receive immunizations and athletic physicals on May 8.
This is a great opportunity for 6th graders who still need their 7th grade shots and for juniors and seniors who need their college meningitis vaccine.
Sports physicals are good for two years. If your student athlete did not get a physical last year, they will need to get one for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Please contact Coach Kaiser at (979) 966-6118 ext. 315 if you are unsure if your student needs a physical or not.
The mobile clinic does accept insurance. If you do not have insurance, there will be a flat fee of $20 for a physical, or $13 per vaccination.

Carmine 42 Domino Club The Carmine 42 Domino Club met on Wednesday,April 3 at JW’s Steakhouse in Carmine. Everyone chose a delicious lunch provided by hostess, Edith Flinn.
Afterward, eight competitive games of 42 were played among the partners which were determined by drawing a paper with positions at tables marked on the papers.
The high-scoring partners were LaVerne Albers and Linda Mattocks with a score of 2,020 and they played two hands of 84. Second-highest scoring partners were Edith Flinn and Betty Porter with a score of 1,692 and they played two hands of 84. Partners Carol Naegeli and Jeanette Schoenst played six hands of 84. Also enjoying the games were Donna Mueller and Marlene Waak who played two hands of 84.
Everyone enjoyed the challenging games and the delightful conversations! This 42 Club looks forward to play more games on May 1.

Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.
Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Take note that Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
The hours in Warrenton at 600 Huenefeld Ln., Round Top are 8-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and also 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturdays.
The trailer is also in Fayetteville on Tuesdays from 1-5:30 p.m. Trash bags are accepted at Fayetteville for a cost.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250AugsburgAve. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
