The UIL academic district 29A results are: calculator applications, Kinsley Bage, second, Jaylen Bage, third, Maggie Salinas, fourth, and Lucero Soto, sixth; copy editing, Kendra Pesch, second; editorial writing, Alin Soto, second and Lucy Soto, third; headline writing, Sophia Nance, first and Angie LeBouef, fourth; mathematics, Kinsley Bage, fifth; number sense, Kinsley Bage, fourth and Jaylen Bage, seventh; ready writing, Hailey Johnson, second and Lizeth Hernandez, fourth; science, Kendra Pesch, fifth, Kinsley Bage, sixth, Jaylen Bage, seventh and Maggie Salinas, eighth; social studies, Gretchen Sacks, second; and spelling, Angie LeBouef, second and Sophia Nance, third. First, second and third place winners qualify for regionals. Best wishes!

Round Top-Carmine High School baseball team hosts Snook onApril 23 at 4:30 p.m. The team’s last district game will be at Snook on April 26 at 6:30 p.m.

All RT-C students will have the opportunity to receive immunizations and athletic physicals on May 8th.

The TexasA&M University School of Nursing will be at the school on that Wednesday.

The mobile clinic does accept insurance. If you do not have insurance, there will be a flat fee of $20 for a physical, or $13 per vaccination.

High school students participated in the district golf tournament on April 4 in Weimar. The girls team placed first and will advance to regional. Members of the team include Angie LeBouef, Avery Nelius, Kim Rohde Makayla Smith, and Maggie Salinas. Individuals advancing to regionals are Fernanda Cerda and Carter Marburger. Congratulations!

Pet Vaccination Clinic 

A pet vaccination clinic will be held on Thursday, May 2, sponsored by the RT-C 4-H Club. Shots will be given at the Round Top Rifle Hall from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by shots at the Carmine Hall from 6:15 to 7 p.m.

Services include Rabies Shot for dog or cat for $12 per pet; full workups include dog DHLP plus Rabies for $46; Cat FVRCP plus Rabies for $56; and Rattlesnake for $20.

Proceeds will benefit the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter of La Grange.

The Waldeck Cemetery will hold its annual Decoration Service this Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m.

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department monthly meeting

is April 25 at 7 p.m.

Confirmation Class meets Wednesday from 4:15 to 6:45 p.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion observing the Fifth Sunday of Easter is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday worship with Holy communion is a 10 a.m.

Carmine Visitor’s Center The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Recycle Trailer 

The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.

Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Take note that Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags.

Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
