    RT-C Offering Basketball, Volleyball Camps

The RT-C administrative offices will be closed July 3-7. After that, they will be open through Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Sports Summer Camp Schedule is on the www.rtcisd. net/athletics website. Contact number is (979) 966-6118.

Strength and conditioning and summer skill work are both free and held mondays through July 14, for incoming seventh through 12th graders. The first one is 8-9 a.m. and the second 9-10 a.m. Registration is not needed for these two. They will be off July 3-7.

The deadline for registration for the following camps is July 10 to receive a T-shirt and cost is $60. Basketball camp is July 17-19 for incoming first through 12th grades. Volleyball camp is July 26-28 also for first through 12th grades. Baseball camp is July 27-29 for incoming second through eighth grades.

Rebekah Group Meets

The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met on Thursday, June 8 at 2 p.m. Four members were present. They were Jocie Braun, Dianna Gerland, Diana Wunderlich and Joys Baird.

The Bible Study was led by Diana Wunderlich with the first session of the summer Bible study, Salvation Now, Promised Salvation NOW, Jesus brings wellness.

The business meeting was called to order by Joys Baird, acting for Susan Ray, President.

The purpose and mission statements were recited.

Minutes of the previous May, 2023, meeting were read by Joys Baird, for Nancy Eilers, and approved as read.

The treasurer’s report, given by Dianna Gerland, was approved.

Action Report: Diana Wunderlich reported the monthly quilting will be on Monday, June 12. The Ingathering for UPBRING is still being collected to give everyone an opportunity to contribute.

Community Report: Sedalia Ullrich has been trying to contact Argent Court in Brenham and a suggestion was made about contacting the family of Gladys Roemer, who is a resident of Argent Court.

Growth Report: The Salad Supper was held at MLLC Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, June 7, with a Butterfly Theme. Approximately 30 guests attended and enjoyed the food, fellowship, and the program.

The election of officers was postponed until the July 13 meeting.

Birthday celebrants for June are Sedalia Ullrich and Joyce Fuchs.

The Lord’s Prayer was prayed for the offering meditation.

Hostesses were Sedalia Ullrich and Dianna Gerland.

Online Bill Pay

The City of Carmine is now offering Online Bill Pay. This new customer portal allows customers to easily manage their utility account, monitor usage, view bill, receive text/email alerts, and enroll in auto pay.

Please email carmine@cityofcarmine.com with updated cell phone, and email address to be included in the new alert system.

Visit http://cityofcarmine. com and click on the tab “Online Bill Pay” to access the new portal.

Customers wishing to have the convenience of paying and viewing billing information online, will need to create an account. Please be sure to have your account number.

You may also pay your bill 24/7 by calling (888) 5793829 (toll free number to pay over the phone.) Have your account number handy and follow the prompts.

Carmine VFD

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting is June 22 at 7 p.m.

The Firemen’s Feast will be held on July 16. Fried chicken plates will be served as drive-thru only and donations will be taken as payment for the meal. A drawing will also be held.

MLLC News

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion, observing the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost is at 10 a.m. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Men in Mission meet Monday at 6 p.m.

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave., Carmine, TX 78932.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and is for pick-up only until 11:30 a.m. There are 5 meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

Recycling Trailer

The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Visitors’ Center

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
