RT-C Kindergarten, Pre-K Round Up April 4
Round Top-Carmine Elementary will have a Kindergarten Roundup on April 4, at the elementary school from 5 to 6 p.m. Eligible children who plan to attend Kindergarten and/or Prekindergarten at Round Top-Carmine Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year are invited to attend.
Parents are asked to bring their completed enrollment packet or complete the online enrollment packet, along with all required documents at this time. Enrollment packets are available for download or online completion on the rtcisd. net website. There is also a check-off list for the documents needed for enrollment. Packets will be checked by school staff while parents and their student(s) meet with the Kindergarten and Prekindergarten teachers. Children who will be five years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2024, and who reside in the RT-C school district are eligible for enrollment in the Kindergarten Class for the 20242025 school year.
Round Top-Carmine Elementary also offers fouryear- old prekindergarten. Eligibility for prekindergarten can be established after April 1, 2024. Children who will be four years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2024, may be eligible for enrollment in the Prekindergarten Class for the 20242025 school year if they meet the following criteria:
• be unable to speak and comprehend the English language • be educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program [NSLP]; (Proof of income is required.)
• be homeless (the student must fit the definition of homeless as defined by 42 USC, §11434a. (See 7.2.4 Pre-K Eligibility Based on Homelessness.)
• be the child of an activeduty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority
• be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
• have ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas DFPS (foster care) following an adversary hearing
• is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award such as: a peace officer under Texas Government Code, §3106.002, a firefighter under Texas Government Code, §3106.003, an emergency medical first responder under Texas Government Code, §3106.004
