Round Top’s Annual Lighted Christmas Parade is on Dec. 2

The first Saturday in December, Round Top is the place to be for all things Christmas including food, drinks, live music and lots of fun! Breakfast with Santa is over at Royer’s – you will have to sign up for this online so don’t wait. There are two different time options.

Beginning at 10 a.m. come shopping around town. Activities on the Square begin at 3 p.m., and the parade begins at 6:45 p.m. If you want to participate in the parade, there is still time, but you must register in advance. Visit exploreroundtop. com for more information.

Live and Local

Open Mic Night is Friday, Nov. 17 beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, catch Bill Pekar, and on Sunday it’s Mitch Marcoulier.

The Wyatt C Ellis Band will be at The Stone Cellar on Friday, Lightning Ben takes the stage Saturday, and Henry Williams will be there Sunday.

Round Top Turkey Trot

Register now for the 7th annual Round Top Turkey Trot held Thanksgiving morning at 8 a.m. Choose from a 10k, 5k, or kid’s 1-mile fun run and support the Round Top Lions Club while you’re at it! Register online at athleteguild. com.

Round Top-Carmine ISD

The Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation awarded ten innovative teacher grants for Fall 2023.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The Monday Night Hamburger Social takes place the first, second and third Mondays each month starting at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Round Top Family Library

The Round Top Family Library offers several different free classes for a variety of ages throughout the week. For a full list and times for the classes, visit ilovetoread. org. The library will be closed Nov. 23-26 for Thanksgiving.

The Round Top Family Library’s Christmas Extravaganza is Saturday, Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be Christmas treats, game booths, music, and Santa himself will be there for photos! This is free and open to the public. Contact the library if you would like to sponsor a booth.

Festival Hill

The annual performance of The Nutcracker Ballet is Saturday, Dec. 9. Also in December, the Sounds of the Season concert, held Friday, Dec. 15. Tickets available online.

Town Council

The Round Top Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at www.townofroundtop. org at least 72 hours prior to the meeting time.

Winedale

Christmas at Winedale will be Saturday, Dec. 9, noon to 4 p.m. There will be crafts and folklife demonstrations, music and theater performances, food and beverages, and more. This event is free. Winedale is located at 3738 FM 2714, Round Top and the phone number is (979) 278-3530

Church News

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. The next Mass service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 12. View the bulletin online at stjohnfayetteville. com for more information.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Pastor John David leads adult bible study the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

There will be no classes for the Crossroads Confirmation Ministry during December. Notice will be given later of the schedule of classes after the new year begins in January.

Noisy offering and the Thankoffering Service will be Nov. 19. This is the womenled service and volunteers are needed. Thanksgiving Eve Service will be Wednesday, Nov.22 at 7 p.m. at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.
