    Round Top Wine Festival this Weekend

This weekend is the annual Round Top Wine Fest. Friday, Nov. 3, enjoy live music, great food and drinks. Saturday, several local shopping spots throughout Round Top will be pouring a variety of wines beginning at 11 a.m. A map will be provided so participants can mark their favorites and be entered into a raffle. New this year, a shuttle will be offered for all registrants. Shuttle parking will be in the field between the Red Antler Bungalows and Coyote Station. Busted Oak Cellars will be featuring a chocolate wine pairing as well as great live music. You can also enjoy live music at The Stone Cellar and The Vintage Hideaway.

Sunday morning, wrap up your weekend with brunch at one of several local eateries including Duo Modern Cuisine, Garden Co., Royers, or Lulu’s. Registration for Saturday’s wine event is available at exploreroundtop.com.

Round Top Turkey Trot

Sign-up for the 7th annual Round Top Turkey Trot is open. Come out on Thanksgiving morning and support the Round Top Lion’s Club in either the 10k, 5k, or kid’s 1-mile fun run to burn those calories before eating Thanksgiving dinner. The morning begins at 8 a.m. in Henkel Square. All participants who register before Nov. 1 are guaranteed a shirt. Register online at athleteguild.com.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The Monday Night Hamburger Social takes place the first, second and third Mondays each month starting at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Round Top – Carmine ISD

The annual Fall Festival was a huge success. Wednesday, Nov. 8 is the Thanksgiving meal at the Elementary School. Pre-K thru third grade lunch is 10:50 – 11:20 a.m., and 4th thru 6th grades eat from 11:50 – 12:20 p.m. The menu includes turkey or popcorn chicken, dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli, and cheese, cinnamon apples, and cranberry sauce. Each plate is $6 and RSVPs are due by Nov. 3. Thursday, Nov. 9, report cards will be sent home, and Friday, Nov. 10 is 12:30 p.m. release for students. Fall Break begins Monday, Nov. 20. Round Top Family Library

The Round Top Family Library offers several different free classes for a variety of ages throughout the week. For a full list and times for the classes, visit ilovetoread.org.

A Chess Tournament will be held Saturday, Nov. 4 for ages 5 and up. Registration begins at 9 a.m. This is a free tournament, but space is limited. Advanced registration is recommended.

The next Family Game Day is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 11 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Operation Christmas Child boxes are available at the Round Top Family Library. Come by the library Monday-Saturday during library hours to pick up a shoe box. Once you have filled the box, bring it back to the library by Nov. 16.

Festival Hill

The 26th Annual Theatre Forum will be held Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19. Tickets available at festivalhill.org.

Town Council

The Round Top Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at

Winedale

The next Winedale online talk: “The Battle of the Alamo: A Flashpoint of the Texas Revolution.” The Alamo’s Senior Curator, Historian and Lecturer Ernesto Rodriguez traces the roots of the Texas Revolution, from the political seat of power in Mexico City to the frontier battlefields across modern-day South Texas. Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Pastor John David leads adult bible study the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.
