The Summer Music Concert Series is wrapping up! Friday, July 14, is the Best of 2023 Chamber Music Program at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, enjoy the Percussion Showcase at 1:30 p.m., the closing chamber music concert at 3:30, and the closing orchestra concert at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available online or by calling the office at (979) 249-3129. Tickets may be purchased at the door. For more information on these events, or for a look at the summer shows, visit festivalhill. org.

Local Events

If you are looking for some casual fun, Round Top Brewing and The Stone Cellar host musicians most Saturdays and Sundays.

Busted Oak Cellars has Open Mic Night Friday, July 14 from 6 to 9 p.m., Eric Flores Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Mitch Marcoulier Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday is Bingo Night and more great artists are booked for next weekend.

A summer pop-up will take place at Cisco Village located at 1350 N. Hwy. 237 in Round Top from July 2023. Come support local vendors, pick up your drink at the Crown Bar and take a stroll around the venue.

The Feel Good Marketplace will be back again Aug.

17-20, and Sept. 21-24.

Round Top Rifle Hall

Monday Night Hamburger Social takes place the first, second and third Mondays each month starting at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the Round Top Rifle Association Hall. Town of Round Top

The next Round Top Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at www.townofroundtop. org at least 72 hours prior to the meeting time.

Round Top Family Library

Here’s a look at the free programs for the month of July: Yoga in the library Mondays at 5 p.m. and Wednesdays at 9 a.m., Chess Club meets Wednesdays at 1 p.m., and pre-school story time is Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m.

A Barn Quilt Class will be July 21 at 10 a.m., and an adult painting class is July 29 at 10 a.m. Registration is required for these two classes. July 27 at 2:30 p.m. come enjoy an All Together Dance Party.

Round Top Sons of Hermann The next meeting for the Round Top Hermann Sons Life Lodge 151 will be July 27.

Round Top-Carmine ISD We are just under one month from the start of the new school year. Elementary school supply lists are online at the school’s website. Developmental screening for preschool-age children is Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Church News

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. This month’s monthly Mass was rescheduled for Tuesday, July 11. View the bulletin online at stjohnfayetteville.com for more information.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Pastor John David leads adult Bible study the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

A special congregational meeting for BLC will be held July 16 following the 9:30 a.m. worship service to discuss and review several bids for surveying the church property.

BLC Bible Study met Thursday, July 6. Julie Wantland started with Calling Jesus. Sherry Pennington shared the information from Pastor’s Bible study the Wednesday evening before. Patty Royal and Mary Reeves led the panel discussions, ending with Psalm 1. Jeanette Schoenst served as hostess. The next bible study will be Aug. 3. All are welcome.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.

The upcoming Crossroads Shared Lutheran Ministry Meeting is Saturday, August 12 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Waldeck.

St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.
