Round Top Music Festival Closes this Weekend

The “Best of Chamber Music 2024” will be Friday, July 12 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13 is a Percussion Showcase from 1:30-2:30 p.m., and the Season Closing Concert at 7:30 p.m.

The next opportunity for a show will be Saturday, Aug. 24. The Magnolia City Brass Band will take the stage at the Festival Concert Hall. Houston’s new all-professional British-style brass band under the direction of Houston Symphony Assistant Principal Trumpet, Robert Walp.

Round Top Family Library Yoga is held Mondays at 5 p.m., and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. Preschool Story Time is Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13 is Family Game Day beginning at 10 a.m.

Thursday, July 18, storyteller, teller, Bernadette Nason, will share thrilling tales for “Adventure Begins” at the library! This is great free fun for the whole family.

Thursday, July 25, David Smith will be back for his previously rescheduled talk in conjunction with RTFL’s FYI.

After eight years as an Airborne Ranger in the US Army, David spent his career as a FBI Special Agent investigating various violations of federal law, including domestic terrorism. His last major case was the FBI’s Top-10 fugitive Eric Robert Rudolph for a bombing and murder in Birmingham, AL. Rudolph was finally caught after five years of hiding in the NC mountains.

Church News 

Enjoy a special Saint Cecilia’s Series Concert with The Wildflowers, featuring Ashley Monical and HalleyAnna Finlay, Saturday, July 27 at 5:45 p.m. Reception following. Don’t miss it.

Bethlehem Lutheran Council Members will meet after the service Sunday, July 14. The Ruth Circle members are asking the congregation to begin collecting plastic bottle caps from water or soda bottles, empty pill bottles with lids, aluminum pull tabs (poptops), and glasses and glasses cases. Collection containers will be set up on the kitchen counter in the Education building.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby has quilting on July 17 at 8:30 a.m.
