The library is offering TaeKwon-Do training with Master instructor David Mc-Call, Black Belt, for grades second and up, Thursdays from 5:15-6:15 p.m. This is a year-round class and registration is required. Contact info@ilovetoread.org or (979) 249-2700 for information.

Round Top Lions Club 

Don’t forget to sign up for The Round Top Lions Club Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. Each year, the Lion’s Club donates funds to various non-profit organizations; all proceeds benefit the youth in the Round Top community. Visit athleteguild.com to register.

Round Top-Carmine ISD Please join in honoring our Veterans. Monday, Nov. 11 there will be a program beginning at 2 p.m. for Veteran’s Day at the High School. Veterans are welcome to come beginning at 1:30 p.m. for refreshments.

A FASFA and scholarship meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. This important meeting will cover FAFSA, which begins Dec. 1, and is a graduation requirement, plus discussing scholarships, some changes to this year, and the best way to streamline the process.

Friday, Nov. 15 is an early release with buses running at 12:30 p.m. Students are out for Thanksgiving Break Nov. 25-29.

Round Top C of C 

The monthly Round Top Chamber Social is set for Thursday, Nov. 14 from 5-7 p.m. This month’s event will take place at The Vintage Hideaway located at 3820 Schoenst Road. All are welcome. Local Events

An art festival will take place at The Compound Nov. 15-17. View works created by artists from across the nation. This festival will benefit ARTS for Rural Texas. If you are an artist and would like information on being included, send an email to roundtopcompound@ gmail.com.

The Round Top En Plein Air Invitational and Art Experience will take place on December 4 – 8. Experience legendary Round Top in painted glory as nine artists compete in four days of competition, demonstrations and studio tours. The first ChristkindlMarket at The Compound will be Friday, Dec. 6, to Sunday, Dec. 8. There will be unique gifts, holiday décor, seasonal food and drink, Christmas music and more. Save the date for Round Top’s Annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Mayer Cemetery Association 

The Mayer Cemetery association will have their annual meeting on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Round Top Real Estate Office, located at 101 N. Main Street on the square. Reports will be given on cemetery needs including the mowing and upkeep funds, Mayer Cemetery Association Bylaws revisions, the annual Officer’s election, as well as other items. Festival Hill 

Up next is the first annual Round Top Film Festival, taking place this weekend, Nov. 7-10. The event will feature over 40 films of various kinds, several special events including one-of-a-kind culinary delights, evening cocktail parties, awards ceremonies, and tons of great networking opportunities.

While the main location will be the Round Top Festival Institute, events will also take place at District 550, Junk Gypsy World Headquarters, Market Hill, Red Antler, and the Round Top Rifle Hall. For more information on this event, or to purchase your tickets, visit exploreroundtop.com.

Nov. 15-17, Festival Hill is hosting a Theatre Forum. The event will cover how we are influenced by the visual aspects of set designs, costumes, lighting, architecture, as well as how does drama manifest in visual art? The next community Gardens and Grounds Volunteer Day at Festival Hill will be Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m.12 p.m. Please register at festivalhill. org.

Church News 

Mass at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton are held the first Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the Altar. More information can be found at stjohnfayetteville. com/st-martin.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church services are at 9:30 a.m. Council will meet Nov. 10 after worship. Sewing Circle will meet Nov. 12 at 9:30 a.m. Noisy Offering and the Women’s Thankoffering service will be Nov. 17. This year’s Christmas Program will be Dec. 8. Please contact Stacy Eilers if your child would like a role.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby services are at 8 a.m. Church Council will meet Nov. 12, Quilting meets Nov. 20 at 8:30 a.m., and Choir Practice will be at 7 p.m.

Round Top Church meets at 8:45 a.m. for Bible Study, and the service is held at 10 a.m. St. Cecilia holds service in Haw Creek Chapel at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m.

Celebrations
